I'm not sure, but I don't like iTunes personally. I haven't used it since it duplicated my entire 120GB+ of music into its favoured format without ever asking me, and subsequently crashed my computer. This was back in the days when 120GB of music was a big deal. My hard drive had a capacity of 300GB, so 120GB of music basically was already clogging my system up, so when iTunes decided to make duplicates of everything and change it to whatever format it uses, my computer kept crashing. It took quite a few days to clear everything up without wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS.

oof. messy.

i mean, no argument here. i fucking HATE Apple. but itunes is way less invasive now. i've had it do stuff like that too back in the day, it's not near as grabby now.

but yeah. windows and android app is just kinda..... necessary.

I imagine it cost a lot to develop such a detailed app for the iOS, but you're totally right, they need to bring out an Android/Windows version soon. I probably would have bought a H9 by now if they had.

I realized I hadn't bought myself a Christmas present so I finally snagged a used Spaceman WOW Signal. I know they seem to get a little bit of hate around here but I thought it was a super cool pedal since I saw a youtube video awhile ago. I'm excited for it!

I don't think they get hate - especially the wow signal, it sounds fucking awesome and the PCB is sechs.

I think people hate the hype, the blatant flipping for massive profit and the general douchebaggery associated with the spaceman stuff.

Congrats on a cool present to yourself!

Yeah I agree, I used to have a few Spaceman pedals and they were great. However, the business model is super annoying, making everything a limited edition mean he attracts the most annoying sort of customer. I think it's pretty sad though because it means his pedals are ending up in the hands of people that don't appreciate the pedal so much as they appreciate the exclusivity and collectability. He is always going to have customers though so I guess it's smart, just a shame.

You would probably dig it behndy it's a fuzz with a lfo with speed depth controls built in. There is only like one nice demo on youtube but it seems really fun to experiment with.

...and yeah I totally agree with all the stuff you guys said. The Wow signal seems to be the black sheep of his line, there the only ones that show up used for nice prices, while all his bare bones fuzzes go for crazy prices but who knows maybe they are great.

Oh and I feel like all of these fancy crazy price fetching fuzzes all say they're limited because of like the NOS parts and stuff, I know nothing of pedal building but was wondering if that was true.

NOS parts... yeah, it costs more per unit to procure them, and find the right HFE and leakage, but even matched AC128s can be had for under 5 euros a pair. Funny Russian stuff is cheaper (even factoring in time for matching etc...). Carbon comps and tropical fish caps are still relatively cheap. The unit price for a NOS pedal is going to be above a current spec pedal, but on the other hand the R&D going into most of these fuzzes is zero, so with random maths I'd say it all evens out in the wash. NOS is the rationale for the price tag, but does not justify it. Consumer demand is what drives the stupid prices.

I have a Blunderbuss (I think they're similar?) and I like it on lower gain a lot

I had a Musket and to me it sounded too metal (distortion like).

I found the control labels to be somewhat of an enigma and I just moved the knobs around without looking and that helped me a lot :idk:
