Because they're expensive as fucking fuck?
I'd have to sell all my pedals and probably two of my basses to afford one.
A new one sure… but my 400 was around $800 actually, and I traded stuff so it really wasn't that painful

What are some other bass heavy fuzzes that are hot right now? HOT.
How about one of those super neat Klon clones over on tgp? I've heard they're transparent as fuck and rea....

I finally dialed in a sound I really like on my depth charge today. I had to turn it to the brighter setting and fine-tune the mix knob so it all gelled properly. I hate that the super bassy side of it seems less useful. Its just so muffled. I really won't know until I get in a room with a drummer and guitar player though.
Congrats! I thought I might be selling you mine until just a little while ago haha

Yeah, that's way too high wattage for me. If I'm gonna play through tubes, I want it to be able to give me a little breakup.
The fact that you can run the Prodigy at 125 watts is really interesting to me. But again, just wayyyyyyyy too expensive.

It really is fucking incredible and soooo much fun. That's one of those "what the holy hell is that thing" when I bring it to the studio.
The depth charge is at the top of my list of all time favorite bass fuzzes, and it just kills in a full mix. I have 5 of them to ensure one will always be on one of my boards. Yes I know, I'm cray cray

Chiefy, if you get a chance to try a prodigy and strategy I'm really curious what you think of it.
Based on what I think you like in terms of tone- I'm guessing you will be moist.

Holy hell. That's pretty deep.
:crickets:
Do you use yours on the brighter or darker side? Do you find that the dark side sits well in a full mix? It seems so muffled on its own. Like a blanket full of bees. But so much bass!
