I need to get around to making a cable rack that has everything sorted by length. I feel doing colors = length is a great idea if you're starting out. It's far too late for me to do that though.

lol. right? i mean. i have like.... mebbe 30 cables now? i'm trying to decide how i'm going to roll from jump.

i like the finger cable holder things that go on racks/mic stands. want to end up with that eventually.

Are we reaching critical mass here? Do we need a MILF competition? Modular (systems) of ILF?

lol. i don't think y'all understand how INSANELY JEALOUS I AM of anybody that has music room space. i love our house, but in the Bay Yarea.... you just don't get a lot of room. we have a 1.5 bedroom place and my wife and i share the small room as her office/my musics. it is SO FRUSTRATING only having an about 16 square foot (square footage is measured as length multiplied by width no? it's 4 foot by 4 foot.) to get everything setup in.

we're supposed to get our garage back soon, so she would move in there. which. YES PLEASE.

I WANT ROOM FOR DESKS. AND FINGER CABLEY THINGIES ON DESKS.

Take over the dining area! We moved into a 1br in a high rise (city lights from the 18th floor ), and I use the dining area for my computer/music station. My 3 guitars are hung on the wall behind my computer chair. The table to the left of the jamstand in my videos is her little computer spot. We pretty much always eat in front of the TV in the bedroom or on the living room couch anyway, so it works.

I'm in the dining room, I'm in the music station. I'm in the combination dining room and music station.

I use different colours for cables depending on length (+ the stackables that have mostly shitty colours), it works fine for me. Makes it easy to read patches and to find the good cable when I need it .
And yeah, the black market modular ones are great.

I think doing this by total hp would make more sense? Like 0-104, 104-208, 208-416, 416-infinity?

If we end up with a modular subforum here, these categories would be absolutely useless and would make no fucking sense whatsoever. It's like dividing a pedals forum by price

also, i never thought to ask. is it dangerous to have open holes (giggety) on a rack? i turn it off when i leave the room, and usually the kits sit in my lap when i'm Noising, not try to get inside it. but. you know. they ARE cats.
