I got this guy in yesterday and it's awesome!
Highly recommended to anyone looking for a smallish amp and it's on SUPER SALE too!
Mine shipped today. Hopefully I bond with it. All the comments I've seen about it being picky with dirt...have me a bit worried but I'm excited none the less. Wonder if that was straight in or in the effects loop. I watched a video that goes over the controls, and how they interact and whatnot. Should help with dialing in a bit.

I never used the effects loop on my gvt15h, always ran straight in. I found some dirt/fuzz pedals that worked but it took some real tweaking. Sadly, all my go-to od/dirt/fuzz, the pedals that work well with every guitar and amp I own, wouldn't bond with the Ampeg. Everything sounded harsh and weird and a little thin. At first I figured it was my speakers but I tried several cabs, all with the same result. Always shocked me cuz the cleans on that amp are so nice and full, figured it would be perfect pedal platform amp. Delay, mod, and verb all sounder great thru it, just the dirty stuff that had issues.

That said, the EQ is very powerful and every time you change the mid-shift setting the treble/bass bax portion recalibrates and reacts differently. Tons of options there so be patient and tweak it to death. A preamp tube swap may help out as well...

awesome :!!!: you went with a drone commander! when you come back from your AWESOME trip to india you'll probably want to pick up one of these Tampura electronic drone machines. They are so much fun and with effects it gets out there. Probably cheaper in India!

Yeah, Drone Commander popped up in b/s/t which NEVER happens. It wasn't in the title of the thread so I think it slipped under the radar. Lucky me. But yeah I've played with one of those Tampura boxes before, but never with effects. Cycling through the half-steps is really fun.

Fucking Christ, do I really want an HM-2 again?

This will be the third time I've owned one if I do indeed make the plunge.

IN: Roland Double Beat, vintage 68 vox tonebender, lotus orange

I played them all on their own, with new and then almost dead batteries because oatmeal, then chained them up and added three delay pedals :!!!:

You should just go ahead and buy the Roland Double Beat. delicious fuzz tone, three tone/waveform? selector, volume and sustain. oh, and its a fuzz wah too.

Kinda cool plugging in a vintage vox pedal into my modern vox amp. holy heaven's gate :omg: wow what agreeable fuzz tonez. this is some serious shit right here. tone. not the actual tone of the vox pedal, but it reminds me of another pedal i just received....the eqd zap machine which is just so....right.

Lotus Orange has that vintage vibe i'm used to. i got #001 of some ltd edition. reallly cool pedla and im gonna check out this company.

putting them through the paces.
