Do it! I've seen you post about wanting drone stuff before
The worst that could happen is you regret it and spend a while trying to get similar stuff back?
Seems like a great new avenue for creativity, especially if stuff is going unused :)

I second this. I read your posts on the last page.
I was really nervous to get my semi modular and start a Eurorack modular but I am really glad I did. I have drum machines too which leads to Epic jams. I was in a band until awhile ago, then schedules and a few other things made it hard to carry on. I am having a blast exploring all kinds of sounds these days.

Just snagged a used pitchfactor and fz-2 from the bay. Coupled with the new DOD scored from work, I have some cool sounds in my immediate future :)

Yeah, I feel similar. Since I started playing I've been arranging my setup and getting used to EQ settings that I feel would fit well in a mix with other instruments, but now I've settled with the fact that, in this area, I'm never gonna find anyone with a similar mindset to play with.
I'm so bored with guitars now, too, and what's worse is that I keep dreaming up new project ideas. What for? I don't need any more guitars. I think I like putting them together more than I like playing them...but I still don't wanna regret getting rid of mine.
I need the cheapest synth with the most utility for me, but haven't quite found it yet. It doesn't have to be all fancy-schmancy analog, but I really don't wanna have to use a menu to adjust parameters. And I hate the controls of the Microkorg
I have a MIDI keyboard too, but software synths and DAWs are kinda overwhelming. I feel like I need some limitations or my motivation will disappear.

You guys gotta get a drum machine or drum machine software and start jamming by yourselves! I've never been in a band, which has been discouraging at times. But it's just driven to me find ways around it, whether it be drum machines, figuring out how to record through cabs and master my own stuff, etc etc.

Achie, I've not looked into it super hard, but about about the Microbrute?

I do have an Electribe EMX that's good for noodling. It yields some toans that I really love, but it's a little tedious to program or play in realtime if yr using it outside of its "natural habitat", which is what got me thinking about a standalone synth.
Forgot about the Microbrute, looks like boners. I might have to go for that ASAP...

Thanks you guys for the encouragement. Mr. Lane, you're right, I might as well give it a shot. It's just stuff I'm not using anyways.

Sometimes I'm convinced we're the same person. I think I'm going to look into the Volca Keys + midi controller.
I had a blast playing with Sherm's.

I would also love to do this, but I've never sat down with a drum machine and done any programming. Any suggestions for something with decent programming capabilities without use of a computer?

you guys who are debating getting rid of stuff you've once loved should just do it. It's just stuff or toys or whatever. This past year I've sold TONS of pedals and also a bass and amp I've had for like 5 years and I don't regret selling ANY of it. Still have a decent amount of stuff I want to move

KB- I'd look into any of the Boss/Roland Drum Machines honestly. I never spent as much time as I should have with the drum machine that I had, but I was just too used to programming stuff on the computer. I know there was a little bit of a learning curve for me personally to use a drum machine like that, but it seems like once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature

Good advice! Plus, all but the most unobtainium stuff can always be bought again in the future if you decide you really did love it after all.

I suppose this is anti-GAS but I was on quite the dirt search looking for the final fuzz to go on my board. Then I ran the Dirge Tonal Fucking Destruction using the overdrive setting on it and it sounded amazing

I still want a Caprid, a Revelation and a Black Acid. But those needs are not immediate so my dirt GAS has subsided.

Now I'm just looking to try out a different reverb, other than the RRR. Might keep it on my small board though if it doesn't sell in a day or two. I'm thinking I might pull the trigger on a Context.

What kind of verb are you looking for? I found the Context great for ambient and longer decays but I really didn't like it for anything else. I found it to be kind of gated and sterile but :idk:
