Ok something on TB has been bothering me for awhile and I have to say something. I own a Megalith clone. I asked for it to be built, that's my fault. This thread however is fucked up to me
http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f36/overd ... -a-974826/. This guy not only clones everything he can get his hands on, but apparently he sells the clones too. How do I know he sells them? Well here's the proof.

It occurs to me that tracing another persons circuit is probably hard work, it occurs to me that building the pedals is hard work, but it also occurs to me that he's profiting off of other people's designs and that's a dick move in my book.
I do have a Megalith clone that he traced (didn't build) and it sounds almost identical. I bought it more out of curiosity. Anyone that's watched my purchasing and selling habits knows I've owned like 5 Megaliths. Haha.
My point is this is the same as copy someone's board or original design. What have you. Am I alone in thinking this is wrong???

Based on his for sale thread it looks like he only sold that one 'cause it was an extra?

Yea but it's an extra clone for sale. I'm just saying. Seems shady to me.
Plus it's not like he's cloning big name stuff. He's cloning boutique. That just seems fucked to me.

Yeah, I guess he could give it away?
I mean, I'm with you in principle, but this is a different kettle of fish than, say, Freekish Blues.

The toggle is a circuit called BluEQube.
It does a mid scoop for slapping. It is no longer standard as of 2007 or 2008.

lol. ANGER WORDS.
jia. i have the basic Afterburner I. mines is just volume, pu selector and tone. love the simplicity.
but i'm pretty basic in my tonal range desires. both pu's in serial for most everything, tone rolled either slightly up from where i like it or not, just the neck pu for more thin guitary thingers.
MURRRRRR.

There seems to be a lot of debate on the morality of cloning pedals, I've seen brief talks on here I think? Anywho we have guys on here who do the same shit and honestly to a much higher degree. I personally don't know how I feel, but I will say that if you keep your prices reasonable then people won't need to buy cheaper clones, they could just buy the real deal. I think that's the main appeal with people cloning Klons and the such is that the price for the real thing is overblown
