I think there is something wrong. For the last 2 weeks I have not had a single dirt pedal on my board. I have been running my 2204 dimed and have been getting the best tone out of it. The other guitarist is using nothing but his amp's dirt too. I really love the dirty in betweens we get when we roll our volume knobs (volume pedal in my case). WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH ME?!?!?!

Sounds like that's not a problem at all.

That's awesome, did you get the same combo of speakers (axis + 65's)?

Axis + V30 in this one.

If I get bored I can rewire cabs to be one with V30/65s and one with Axis all around.

I'd like to mess around with an Avenger and Lucky 13 more. An old friend that is a total fuzz lord just switched up from a silver Fender to an Avenger and he's getting it good just putting an ICBM into the cleaner input. Supposedly those Luckys are just glassy clean and that's intriguing for pedal use. I tried and tried all day with all the dirt pedals I had at the time to get one sounding good with my SLO and it's just pointless. Anything in the cleaner channel just sounded like some lesser stepchild version of the drive channel and pedals in the drive channel just sounded like ass. At least compared to that sweet sweet natural SLO overdrive sound. I'm really making myself want to play my SLO again just by talking about it.

And HAY NICK! I had a bill that popped up and that's why I was all gung ho to sell the Henge. But since it hasn't yet sold and it looks like I can (barely) handle the bill I'm going to try rolling in some 12au7's. I'd really like to use the thing and that tube rolling was a good suggestion. I'll let you know how it goes.

Any Upsidedown Cross fans up in here?

I just got turned on to 'em and I can't even get enough!

Yea I would try it in V1 first or in V2 or both if you need MAXIMUM cleans. Any brand will do. I dont think another 12at7 is going to lower the sensitivity that much. Whats going to happen is that you will need to turn the amp up more for similar volume and that your fuzz pedal will not increase volume as much when you turn it on. Less gain and sensitivity. Maybe, just maybe it will do it.

Nice! You'll get a lil more variety that way. The all axis variation could be pretty sick! Now you just need a head to power them ;)

As an amp builder I don't think this will be as bad of a situation as it would be for most people. Plus I think it will finally provide you with the motivation to build your heads!

Suffice to say neither will have a loop. I will run all effects into 1 clean amp post dirt.

I know this might erk you but its simpler this way for me

It doesn't erk me, to each their own my friend! It is way simpler and does cut down on cables and setup time, I just like my delays and verb post eq so that I'm no EQ'ing them as well, just personal preference.

I just care about 1 thing and 1 thing only. Burying you in any rig contest, no matter the stakes.
