So those of you who got international marks. What's your plans on weight? The international thing can severely limit the cool factor unless you do multiple packaged, but you're going to pay more money. Did everyone here basically say they wanted shit marked as a gift? I get it, but at the same time, it sucks because you cannot insure your packages.

So, for those that aren't in the know. Anything over 12 inches or over 3lbs automatically kicks your shit WAY the fuck up. For instance lets say it weighs 6 lbs that's going to cost about 60-70 bucks Priority. You can't ship it First Class if it's over 4 lbs, which sucks balls. If you got it to 3 lbs, it'd be about 3- bucks. Soooo, fuck right?

You have to limit packaging, tape, everything. Buy items that are light so you can ship more.

I'm sure I have more tips but I'll ad more later.

USPS has some flat rate boxes, which was ideal for me last year for my SS (USA to Germany). But! I also shipped a month ahead of Xmas, so it was the slow boat of going anyway, so it's a plus/minus that int'l SS should keep in mind (my SS got his right on the cusp of Dec. 23rd, so I was lucky). But those boxes were actually a blessing in disguise, since I ended up filling it up like a sausage (TWSS) over the course of the month previous, stuffing as much as I could and using candy & socks & a shirt as make-shift packaging instead of bubble wrap. Also, depending on the country, you might be better off listing what's actually in there as opposed to just saying "Gift", because 9/10 customs is going to have its way with it no matter what you state a claim on, especially if the box is heavier (and/or includes restricted foodstuffs), and the easier it is for them to unwrap/rewrap everything if need be will probably help. Mine was about 12lbs total, from what I can remember, but USPS may have changed their rates at this point? I want to say I spent about $35-40 on shipping, but I'm fuzzy at the moment? Anyway, I'm sitting this year out, but I hope you all give yourselves some great loot!
