I posted this in the drunk thread, but here's what I've been doing tonight
The pickups are out of a Meazzi Hollywood hollowbody from the 60s that I picked up a couple months ago. The neck twisted and the body is delaminating, but these pickups sounded great in that guitar, so I wanted to give them a better guitar to hang out in. They're basically p90s (in super-hip parallelogram covers) with a blade instead of individual poles and they don't have a baseplate, so we'll see how they sound here.
I'm also kind of digging that sans pickguard look. Something about the exposed routes gives me tingly in the pants feelings. But I have a sheet of pickguard material coming in the mail, so I'll probably make a new pickguard if I end up liking these.

I thought I recognized those pickups.

Spent some time playing it at the appropriate volume level in C standard. I am happy. Once I get it all properly buttoned up, I'll try to record a little demo thing.

Okay, quick and shitty iPhone video. Running the SG through a Hiwatt tape echo and Prescription Electronics RX Overdriver into a clone of a Supro 1624T. I've been listening to the Dead Man soundtrack a lot lately, so...

that's the coolest sg I've ever seen before - my favourite finish too. Sounds fantastic. Post a picture of it with the new guard!

I still need to fine tune the new guard a bit, but it's getting there.
