With the pedal on in the heel position, you've got your note and a fifth up coming through the speakers. Toe down is the note and an octave up harmony, and since the shift bends happen in real time you can get some really cool things happening with it. Not that you can't do the same thing with the other Harmony modes, but as far as fairly traditional "Rock" sounds are concerned, 5th/Octave is far and away the most useful.

I sold my Whammy IV, but I think I'll definitely pick one of these up.
Ya know, the Digitech XP-100, the Whammy-Wah, has that 5th/octave harmony setting as well!

Or you can get a pedal to blend the dry and wet outputs so you can have any of the whammy settinga as harmonies, with whatever kind of knobs for blending you choose. WEEEE.

Correct, which is why I've always had an XP-100. But I will definitely be replacing it with this Bass Whammy, because the XP100's bypass is fucking terrible.

As for the blending thing, not really. You can't go from one harmony to another with just blending a whammy setting with the dry signal. All of the whammy settings start at your original note at toe up, whereas the harmony settings all start at some interval up or down from your original note (so that it creates a harmony), and then it whammies up or down to another harmony at toe down.

Do you guys have any interest at all for a demo of the new Sansamp VT DI?

I'll record it if you want - doesn't seem to be any decent demos yet.

Tool nerds bro-five!

The old Sansamp Bass does a great doom tone. Don't really care about the VT.

I ended up liking every single one of their "character series" except for the VT. I thought that one sounded like butt (not in a good way). If you can make it sound good, I'll be impressed.

I've always hated the sansamps, but I came to realize that most of the tones I hated were from people who had no idea how to tweak it or what its intended purpose was for.

I borrowed it from a buddy, and I've gotten some decent tones out of it. It depends though... as a speaker sim there are tons of other gear that do a better job but I get the attractive price point of a sansamp.
As a pre/EQ it can definitely be useful for fine tuning but I'm not a fan of the drive/gain at ALL.

Just figured I'd ask my homies here

I'll add it to the list after I finish the good stuff...

DUALITYYYYYY :)*

You've tried the other character series for bass or geet? or both?

Bass only. I haven't actually tried all of them, I was exaggerating. I've tried the VT, I owned the Leeds/Hiwatt, and I tried the Orange, Fender and Vox ones. So I haven't tried the Mesa or Marshall ones.

Because of my uncle's insano guitar amp collection, I've been able to play through a Deluxe Reverb, a Bassman, an AC30 and a Hiwatt. I've been able to try Orange amps in stores. They all impressed me with how closely they nailed their models. But I was not a fan of the VT, and I think it's just because I don't like the Ampeg sound.

While I loved the sound of my SVT clean I thought the overdriven sound and that of all overdriven Ampeg bass amps is one of the most farty sounds ever, I hate that sound in realz why would anyone want a pedal that makes you sound like fart infused old sofa cushions :idk:

this is the only time I like that sound..
