I got a Shiv on the way, the 30W el84 offering from Science Amplification (thanks for the GAS avondon!!!). I need to sell an amp when it arrives, not sure what yet....

Some super cool features I'm excited about include the footswitchable gain path taking if from the normal channel (beefier AC30 top boost channel) to a full on gain monster, described to me like a JCM running into a souped up AC30 output section. Also like the addition of the absence control to tame the high end esp with fuzz pedals. Lastly the Loudness control is a unique take on master volume, varying voltage to the power section to reduce volume while keeping tone and gain character in tact unlike an attenuator that just lets the tubes run harder and dissipates the extra output via heat.

Should be here next week so I can give a full review but I gotta say Alex is one of the nicest guys to deal with, just super all around! I bombarded the guy with questions over the last couple months and he happily answered in full detail along with sending me sound clips and song links that featured the Shiv. Just a super cool guy, would fit right in over here on ILF. And his band Kidcrash rules too. :thumb:

Here's a few cell pics he sent before it shipped out:

I tend to like older Epiphone guitars, but that jack placement seems kinda dumb to me.

My current version is pretty awesome. Bet the old Japanese ones are even better.

You got me on a Bass VI kick awhile back and now this. I'd say your influence is pretty valuable.

Honestly, if I had tons of cash laying around I'd like to try every amp in the Science lineup. Some really cool circuit mashups and unique features goin' on with those amps. And they look sexy as fuck, inside and out. I had a hard time deciding but it basically came down to wattage and the fact that I don't need any more 100W-200W amps. The 50W Hellhawk had me lusting pretty hard tho...

Just traded my old Behringer monitors for this (Alesis DEQ230). Presets, comb filters, 1U more stank for my neverending rack boner.

Damn, that is awesome! Can't wait to see what you think!!

Any ideas on what amp you'll have to let go of? It's a shame you have to sell any. They're all no doubt amazing.

In: seppuku memory loss
On the way out: boss se70
Coming soon: ehx 2880
Need: amt little loudmouth volume pedal

This new seppuku pissed me off at first. I thought it was broken but its true genius revealed itself after a realization.
