yeah. i hear Deltz, but i don't have enough experience with him to have a definitive impression either way. i err on the side of misunderstanding until proven otherwise for sure.

Point taken, but also consider that maybe based on what he thought he knew he didn't think it could be done. Maybe there are space tolerances he tries to adhere to for quality reasons that lead him to say it couldn't be done? Perhaps in a face to face or phone conversation it would have come across differently? I've had next to no direct interactions with him and only used a couple of his products, so I'm just spitballing.
In general I'm just hesitant to attribute to Malice (aka doucheyness) to what could be just be ignorance (aka lack of time/opprotunity to consider all of the options) on his or anybody's part.
I can agree with this mostly, especially what I bolded. I am spitballing too. I have had some off interactions with him, not bad just oddish so I can say that I probably am willing to write him off quickly.
That Volca vid is KEWL

Volcas are FUN.
You should record a thing in your mega recordy thing. Then get Paul to gradually come in and jam some real beats on your volca beats. And it would be rad.

oof. i... wobble back and forth on that. we're pretty strict about not doing any sequenced shtuff. all the electro dtuff we do is Paul on his sampler pad thingie.
i sent that vidja to him and he's all moist about using a TimeLine with his pads stuff. he liked the ducking and end freak out oscilation stuff, so we're going to try my extra TimeLine after his pads after this recording session.
but. um. what you speak of? yeah. we might go a tad that direction.

Really hoping it is because that would look amazing.
Finally got the neck all straightened out and action flat after a few hours of work. This fucker needs some new tuning pegs. The stock ones take two hands to turn sometimes.
And I replaced the pickup with a blade. Massive output now and it sounds even better.
I've never dropped lower than D. Gets too floppy. Mustang Basses have individual saddles so intonation shouldn't be a problem. On a Musicmaster, probably going to have some issues with the two saddle bridge.
Finding strings that are thick enough to drop tune on shorties is also a challenge. You could probably pull off C# on a stock set but a C would get pretty crazy floppy.
Ahhh that's awesome. White wearing through to black looks killer. Like so:
& I think Labella custom sets would be a possibly resource for down tuned short scale sets.
I just didn't know if the short scale fucked with the intonation so much that it'd be way out of wack.

I used to run Roto short scales down to C on my short scale bass.
But I like loose strings.

soooooo..... today at breakfast, on the way out, held a door for an older gentleman, as my parents raised me to do (for everybody, not just my elders), and he said, "Thank you, thank you, I deserver it, thank you so much." and sort of Beauty Pageant Flourished his hand at me.
bemused, i stuttered out, "i..... i don't know how to respond to that."
and he threw the happiest shit eating grin back at me over his shoulder.
i REALLY like people some times.

Spencer is a really cool dude! He's just a different character. LOVE Douglas too.
I didn't think the top mounting could be done either. Gut shot Ben? Dan? I'd love to see how close shit is in there. I know Dan would have had to desolder shit to make that happen, which I was too scared to do.
