Not true sir. I converted to the Dinger, then came to my senses and went back. Hah

I do not regret that decision in the least either because I've played 10 basses since that Dingwall that all sounded better than the Dingwall. No offense to Dingwall, but I do not dig the tone. The demos always suck too. I don't know why. I listened to one the other day, and it sounded like butt. Now play a Roscoe or an MTD or fuck even an Fbass (like I has in the fretless naow) and your balls will be blown away sir! BLOWN AWAY! Silly goddamn Dingwall.

:)

See the thing is, I don't know. LOL. I owned two Dingwalls. I really dug the way they sounded but it's fun to pick at people who play them because it's sensitive time. :)

I'd buy a Dingwall again, but I'd only be down for an ABII or higher end model. Yea, I'm to the point where I'm a picky slut with my gear. I will say that playing a Dingwall is similar to a fretless because of the finger positions. So it feels more natural.

Have you played any other basses with slanty frets?

No. I've seen a few, but Dingwall, I thought, had a patent on that system?

I dunno. It's good, but I'm so used to parallel frets, that it's not a big deal to me. After I switched to a Dingwall, my forearms and shit felt like they got weaker and started hurting more. That could also be due to many other issues though. So I switched to higher output basses with more aggressive pickups and electronics so I could lighten up my touch. Heh. Touch.

I dunno if that makes sense, but it does to me.

The manly way that I play would sound shitty on those type of basses.
