Hi folks -
Tim here. I live and work in central Michigan.
I'm here because I fucking love pedals, and this forum seems especially chill.
I don't really gig. Play with friends at every opportunity. Currently, playing a Baja Tele and J Mascis Squier through a modded Blues Jr and homemade (not by me) 2X12.

Hey all. New to the forum and I've got to start somewhere. I used thegearpage for a while before I realized this site was way more up my alley. My name's Josh and I play in a band called Quiet Science. I play in an orchestra pit too and teach esl during the day.
I'll have to post my pedal board soon, but for now I'll just make a quick list: behringer us600>rawkworks light>mxr sbod>bitquest>Freeze>m9>Particle>SMMH

Hey!
After lurking here a few days, it seems that I finally found the board that fits my vision of guitar playing!
I'm Corentin, I live in the western part of France
I play guitar since 2007, self taught. I'm not a technical/shredder at all and my vision of guitar playing is more on the noisy side and textural working
I play in a post metal/drone/experimental 5 pieces band called UTØYA:

I also have a dark ambient/drone/electronica solo project inspired by Tim Hecker/ Ben Frost
See you on the other side!

I knew a few people who died there. Hope it was a respectful choice of band name and not a "like omg, so kewl!"-kind.
Anyways; welcome! Dark ambience and drone is right up my alley. Cool video.

Thanks for your welcome and concern about our band name,
We've to talk with people very often about our choice, but this is actually not a problem since we have made that choice with a deeply and humble respect for the victims of that tragedy. There's no point a provocative choice aswell. In fact we've named our band UTØYA because of the similarities between our music and the actual Norvegian island: cold, wild, serene but capable to be a place of violence and horror. When we were looking for a name, my bandmate read a book about the terrible event and it clicks that this should make a powerful name.
We known that it will make peoples asking about that choice, but we trusted about it, after discussion peoples understand that it is definately a non provocative & non political name, and we are really proud of it
I feel really sorry for you loss too buddy
Thank you for the kind word about our video, friend

I figured, haha. Didn't mean to give you a rough start there. It just hit a little close to home, but I wrote that comment before having watched the video, which, as you said, mixes beauty with horror. Very cool stuff

That's cool: it is always a pleasure to have the opportunity to explain our choices, especially one I'm really proud to be a part of

Thank you so much for having watched and enjoyed the video: I'm super glad you dig it
(i wish I could come in your beautiful country one day)

Please don't creampie my country.

For real though; if you ever swing by, I'll be your guide and jam partner.

Is that a challenge?
Because I might've just accidentally booked a plane ticket to Norway.

Oh shit! That's awesome! Not a challenge, an invitation.
When and where (and why, haha)? And yes, hang and jam we can!
Glace: Michael Scott...I like you.
