I think we need to point that guy in TB's direct. Say something like, "There is a whole community of bassist who could really use your help, go to
www.Talkbass.com"

The rest is funny because of that guy being a TB poster child, but this part is funny because it's true.

Yeah, because overdrives are musical and everyone will here the difference between a BK3 and a Boss SD-1, whereas but crushing is actually a bullshit way to distort your signal and it has no redeeming value and all bit crushers are the same.
Regardless of how much the dude is trolling I bet pounds to peanuts that he thinks in that manner. That there is some magical hierarchy for ways to distort a sound source is really irritating. Music is fun. Gear is fun. Nothing more, nothing less.

If he hates people who just buy gear and waste time then he is not the TB poster child. Based on what Behndy copied, TB would probably piss him off more than Behndy's video.

tb - i think Haki means how there's a lot of YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG BECAUSE TOOBS. P BASS. AMPEEEEEEEG. but yeah. there's a lot of people that have LOADS of gear over there that.... i don't know if they even play. like, that's why it would MEAN SOMETHING if an ilf'er regular had a negative opinion about me. that's why i love over here. everybody that puts up music just blows me away with how awesome it is. so like... someone that is actually doing interesting music... that would matter.
lol. his response to my "you're a moron" last pm -
"Ah, so you finally dropped your little "cute adorable" nonsense and cracked. How satisfying

"
me - "nothing's an act with me homie. it's called being polite. you can be the biggest trolly piece of horrible trashy offal you want, doesn't affect me in the slightest.
i just got really bored of your silly antics. they were amusing as a little diversion as i was doing stuff throughout the day, but you're beyond repeating yourself.
so, thanks for the giggles. still don't believe you're capable of making interesting music, and if you weren't such a comical buffoon, i'd feel sad that people like you were out there.
thanks for the laughs! sad there won't be an example of your "musicianship" to go with it."
awwww guy! you're doing it wrong. you're not s'posed to admit the only thing you're lookin for is a reaction.
he's gotten boring so i'm just going GrrFace "lol. 'k." as a response from now on.
oof. i was BORED yesterday.

B b b b b b beta!

I already have a BEFPro. Will this+midi antiquate the BEFpro? Or can I mock it up with midi controls?
Caveat is I've only spent an hour with it so far and its beta. You won't be able to completely duplicate the functionality of either, so if you're happy with how the BEF Pro is functioning and can deal with the space it takes up...I'm not sure if it'd be worth it for you.
That being said, you would probably lose more control than you gain, but it depends on how much you used some of that control to begin with.
As far as I can tell, you're losing:
1. Some ofthe different LFO wave shapes, you "only" have sine, square and triangle ramp (not sure what its called)
2. EQ
3. Most of the backpage parameters
4. half of the filter types. Their going to simplify it down to only 12 filters, if any of you guys have a favorite filter type or two, let me know and I'll fight for it.
5. only 2 presets if you're not using midi
You're gaining:
1. Built in sidechaining distortion (8 different types including bit crusher and gated) in case you don't want to bring your own and/or you want keep the control of the filter to your input signal without the distortion changing it.
2. Resonance control
3. The easy use of the Resonance control has made some of the different filter types attainable with a quick tweak of the knob, therefore in the current revision there are newer filters, though ultimately the total number will be reduced.
4. Frankly, its easier to use and some of the filter sound improved to me
5. Midi control with the scene saver hub and midi controller of your choice is pretty fucking handy
Overall I'm really happy to have this back in my life. I'm not sure how I feel about the distortion, but then again I didn't read the documentation that came with it until this morning, so I don't feel I was using it the right way. Good news is, all the filtery goodness is in fine shape. Have no idea how to go about figuring out which filters make the most sense to keep in.

Sounds very tempting with the built in drives... I don't mind the space of the Pro at the moment, but I also have a xerograph on my board because I just can't cop that tone with the pro. I'll probably pick it up at some point either way.

I know those bros paid a lot of money to a highly respected design firm to give them a "unique" aesthetic, but seriously, they look like shit.

I haven't put it to the test and sadly I don't have a xero on hand at the moment to put it to the test, but I specifically asked them a couple months ago to try to emulate the Moogish/Xero vibe, espescially the sound you get when doing manual sweeps. Filter #8 is a 4 pole low pass that is supposed to be "now Moogier sounding" but I don't recall giving that a try yesterday.

Yeah they're ugly, but at least they sound good. Another one is the H9, every time I look at that thing all I see is a KIA in pedal form.

oog. i have been waiting for this FOREVER. and i don't really have board room. not ideal, but i'm going to see if i can cop the Malekko Bit with the Mobius or H9.
dood. i LOVE the BEF. but.... yeah. not a fan of the looks. there's this guy that's modded a few of my pedz and done aesthetic work.... gonna see if he can rehouse like an 80's battlw rapper.
SHUT UP MITCHU. THE H9 IS BEAUTIFUL MASS EFFECT LOOKING TECH.
