Dude, how many amps do you have at that tech right now? Sunn Enforcer, Sunn SS... I'm seeing a pattern here.

The guy that's been fixing my amps in Madison for 25+ years has them done in two weeks. And pretty damn cheap. I doubt there's a better tech in the whole state.

Just the 2. I brought them to him in April. The Sunn Enforcer wouldn't power down. so I stopped using it. He 'fixed' gave it back to me in 3 weeks.. and by 'fixed' meaning he didn't. Long story bunch of other shit that needed to be done and in the process he had a car wreck or some shit.

The Sunn Concert lead I bought used off craigslist in dec. it needed a new plug cause it literally electrocutes you while you play. Gave it to him at the same time and said go through it as well just incase of anything. said something about the capacitors being shit and he was going to replace them and that was it. haven't heard anything about that one since.

I brought him a friend's amp a week after I brought him mine and he gave it back to me in 2 weeks at the same time as the sunn which he didn't fix the problem either.

he came recommened from another guy that I know up that has a decent amount of gear mainly fender stuff and actually had him build him a '59 Fender Bassman style head. I was told he was fast and makes sure everything is done right. well now I just want my shit back. I expected a month maybe a month and a half. Not 3 months.

that is ridiculous. Very not cool, car accident or no. The only reason for such a delay would be back ordered parts, in which case you should be contacted and told about the situation. My guy always seems to have a huge pile of stuff waiting o be worked on and he's never taken more than 2 weeks to get my amp back. the sunn he did a ton of work to, basically rebuilding it. He always hands you a bag with the parts he replaced and that one had a bunch of shit in it. Still 2 weeks.

Least you have half a garage of other amps in the meantime? One of my friends has an Enforcer. BEAST of a head. Maybe try the "stop in with a six pack" friendly bribe? Anything to endear you to the tech = good. He might be sitting on them because they're low cost repairs, so low priority; i.e. not custom amp-buildin' money.

My RedBear was in the shop for about a month. Kind of ridiculous but they got it fixed up. I e-mailed them about taking my Beta Lead in and they haven't gotten back to me. I've got to call them up and take it over there but not in a huge hurry right now.

Shit ain't low cost. I've already dropped 700 the work and everything he did when he gave it back to me the first time. Also included the new tubes I wanted dropped in. I'm bout to drop in with a friendly hammer and start smashing him and everything. Regardless if I have a bunch of stuff it's actually holding me up. for my band Yzordderrex I ONLY use the Sunn Enforcer for recording it. If I don't have that then I don't record anything.

The concert lead with the silver face I want to pair with one of my red faced ones cause they sound different for the next Mountain of Beard album. Can't record that till I get it back. When I say I utilize everything, I actually do. So when I pick and put certain things together to create a sound I like I don't deviate from it.

I have 3 of them. 2 red face one silver face. I am a bastard.
