I doubt it. I think they wanted another magical girl show where they could idolize one character and claim her as their wife.

I also loved Dead Leaves. It reminded me of the Jet Grind/Jet Set Radio games.

Dead Leaves kinda let me down, it was described to me as cowboy bebop meets flcl. I cant really think of a worse way to get someones hopes up to let them drop....
