Yeah. Byron has been painful.

He isn't even trying to develop the young talent they've gotten in the lottery past few years.
The team doesn't try. Compare their on court hustle to the 76ers.....it's a joke.
Philly is low key one of the most fun (yet frustrating) league pass teams to watch.

I'm not mad at Byron & really who am I to criticize. But the way they're playing, & the way he appears to be observing them from the bench makes me believe they're intentionally losing. Of course no pro team will ever admit that but watch them with that in mind; it's like watching Star Wars thinking Rey is Luke's daughter.

Byron Scott is an agonizing coach. BUT let me tell you he provides a very reliable tank job.

Very much agree with this.
76ers are a lot of fun to watch right now. So much hustle.

Basically: massive fan base + shitty team + team history of throwing 'Hollywood' at the best available players every offseason + team never being as bad as they have now.

No one will want to come to the Lakers in this era but money does all the talking. Give these young guys another year to grow. They'll kick ass.

Money doesn't do all the talking...Dwight took a hike & took less. So did Pau. Also look at the recent big name free agents who have passed on LA. Speaking of LA, LaMarcus straight up told the Lakers they were living in the past, trying to woo him with everything but winning basketball as the focus.
Young players need a solid organization behind them to grow and realize potential, develop. The Lakers reputation as an organization...considered solid...even league-leading in stability...is behind [them]. I mean how have Randle & Russel developed this year? Nobody is growing under Byron. Next year it's like they'll be rookies all over again.

Compare this to Kawhi Leonard's development since arriving in San Antonio. Finals mvp, defensive poty, now an all-star 2way player. And he's still on the rise. That's the difference an organization (who has their act together) can make.

Yeah the Lakers sales pitch is a joke, and as much as money talks, most of the money guys can make now has nothing to do with their contracts.
Being on a winning team with visibility and playoff games is worth way more than an extra few million a year from a bad team.
