So there's been some minor changes. I think this is how it' going to be for a bit. I rebuilt the fender 2x12, reglued everything, put some grill cloth on it and z-poxy'd the finish. Sounds way better, more durable and looks much nicer. I decided to pull the soundtronics in favor of the new Sunn 1200s. Its kinda a money thing. The soundtronics just uses to many audiophile tubes that are no longer in production. It does sound really really fucking good and I may keep it for recording but likely it will be sold to help out the van fund. Depends what I can get for it.
The Sunn fucking cranks. I'm really diggin it so far. I may mod it to make the mid boost switch footswitchable. Its an awesome feature and really changes up the character of the amp, but not an always on thing. so anyways-

Montgomery ward GIM 9171A into bottom left 4x12, Sunn 1200s into GK 412H, Earth G2000 into fender 2x12 and Kustom 2x15.
Tony's rig also pictured is the Peavey C400 into the ampeg 8x10 and the Sunn concert bass into the Acoustic 1x18 folded horn cab on the bottom. We have em sideways so it all fits with the ceiling the way it is.
Gut shots of the new amp will be in my projects thread in the tech section if ya'll are interested.
It's a Laney LC30II that I stuck in a floorboard shell. I sold it to our guitarist and he just runs it into the top Marshall cab. Should have a Nolan 50 Watt plexi style amp up and running soon so he'll be dual amping with two 4x12s. I'll stick with a sound city and two 15s for now but would like to run my Peavey Mace too but it's really feasable round here.

Ooooh, the red lights are actually pretty. Cheesy, but kinda cool. How's the distortion on it?

Thanks guys.
So i had time to play with it last night...this thing is amazing!...I really think the Ironheart is WAAAAYYYY underrated!
You basically get 3 channels, clean, rhythm and lead...but on top of that you have a boost, which is basically like having a boost pedal going into the front of the amp.
It does modern distortion no worries, but i was concerned about its doom capabilities. But thats easily solved, you turn the dynamic knob all the way clockwise which loosens up the low end, and then you go the lead channel turn down the treb and boost the bass and mid (either turn it up or pull it out, like the AOR style knobs) and kick in the boost of about 7 o'clock...you get instant Sleep (Holy Mountain) type tone...and the thing i like the most is that it allows your pickups to really determine the tone, my P90 SG sounds so different to the humbuckers in my other guitars...i know that sounds stupid and obvious, but on my previous amps, the difference was not this clear.
As for the clean and Rhythm, the clean is luscious (again, something that doesn't get talked about with this amp), the EQ really gives you nice control with the push/pull knobs giving so much depth to the sound. I could easily use this amp for its clean sound...but that would be a waste! The Rhythm channel, although is based on and OD/Dist, with the Boost engaged its really good for Stoner rock and even heavier stuff with some hot pickups.
The way i have it set up is clean, then slight o/d, and balls out distortion...with the boost always on.
The amp, is a dark sounding amp to start with, so you're not going to get chimey type tonees so it would be hard to brighten it up, but having said that the master tone and dynamics would really help getting you there. finally it has a reverb control too which is foot switchable, and that not too bad either.
I have to admit, i wasn't expecting this to be this good. My only issue with it is that the 4 button footswitch takes a while to get use to, but once thats under control, i can see this amp being a keeper.
Oh, and the red light...when i bought it and i was carrying home i was thinking about modifications to the look and was thinking of cutting off the power to the red lights and putting some black cloth on the front to give it more of an AOR look...but playing with it last night, i now kinda like the red lights...oh and on stage it would look pretty cool.
finally...i promise this is the last i will write about this amp...T-Rey this can still work as a mini doom rig...that Watts knob does really bring this amp down to low low volumes...i could be quieter than your 5w and 15w heads!

This intrigues me. Does it still have the toanz at really low watts?
I have seen that they are doing a 15w single channel head and a 15w studio type head with all three channels and silent usb recording (which would potentially be very handy with the incoming baby).

Tonight I played at pretty low volumes, my wife was in the room watching TV and I was playing during the as breaks...and even at that volume it sounded pretty damn good...again, a lot better than I expected given it s a 120w head.

That sounds awesome. We need clips of it Dooming out. You might be one of the first to play it with those settings and in that context so it is your responsibility to instruct the world of its true heritage! I honestly thought it was a modern metal djentlemen's amp and nothing more.
