jwar, i know its hard but try not to let the trolls get you down. I liked the video and thought you got some cool sounds going with the different combinations. You didn't sit and just play a wanky blues lick and click them on and off...
And you actually took the time to make a video. That is very much appreciated by me! And flubbing the Han Solo thing...I thought it was funny. Everyone gets the Blasteroid name wrong and the dude on the Death Ray does look like hitler.

But I feel You and understand You well, I haven't given a thought about making demos after a thought provoking discussion with a bass gear shop owner who - an old fan of one of my bands - asked me to come play and perhaps later demo some of their pedals. All in a sudden two other customers joined the conversation as if asked for their opinions. Dudes were all wound up for me playing something else than a four string Fender j-bass OR an expensive, well known high end instrument. I offered kindly to demo four string chords to them with their basses if my chosen brands and string configurations (bass VI, 12-stringer, down tuned four string bass) were not "standard enough". I could have also borrowed a vintage J-bass, or a Ric, or a Steinberger or an Alembic from friends. And guess twice if that made them any happier? No, no it didn't. And guess if the shop owner kinda decided to forget about the idea and a little later let a jazz musician do the demo evening. Yeah. Well fuck that then, I'll stick to playing with the band, but perhaps I'll see the assholes one day in the audience when playing with some other band they come to see and get my chance chance to serve them some "stupid hot metal" and "unusable sounds" down their throats with all the viriol they deserve, who knows.

But I can at times still get touchy when reading that kind of Youtube gear demo comments about how bass demos should be played with an affordable Fender J or P bass, and seeing how the trolls next want to hear You play something classy and 'spensive they/their friend happen to have. Or comment about shoes /socks/ toes/ cables/ pedal power/ graphic novel or a anythign else they care to fuck around with.

What fucks me up is that if you look at my videos, I always show the bass (almost always at least). My Jackson is my cheapest bass and I love the thing, but why does that matter at all? I have a second Roscoe on the way (that was around 5-6 grand new!) and can't wait, but I don't think I'm going to demo these pedals with it now. Not that they don't deserve the love of my Roscoe, but to prove a point. I do need new strings, the truss rod adjusted (I've been lazy lol) and general maintenance on the instrument, but all and in all, it fucking rules for a 200 dollar bass! The knob that was talking shit on my Jackson owns a fucking Fender Jazz or P (can't tell from pics). Gee that generic piece of shit is much better huh? LOL

I didn't mean to side track this thread so much. I'm very much so appreciative of the pedals and the tshirt. Such a cool thing!!!

I am going to make a new demo with my Jackson and pronounce the names right. I deserve being made fun of for that much. hahaha
