Re-reading Donald E. Westlake's (writing as Richard Stark) Parker books. Killer short noir heist fiction. Only takes a couple hours to read one.
I got the latest Walking Dead graphic novel the library had, and I'm kinda scared the series just humpity-jumped the ole' shark. Oh well, Kirkwood had to fuck it up sooner or later. Season two of the tv show should be fun.

just finished both mrs and mr bridge for a social theory class. even though they were class required readings, i really liked them. very easy to read. almost deceptively simple, it's really easy to miss a lot of the depth.
i'm also kind of half heartedly reading tao lin's richard yates. i got it free on the condition that i write an amazon review.
also bubstance, i will say it again and again but murakami is the shit. i fucking love him.

A Seperate Reality - Carlos Castaneda
The Quark and the Jaguar - Murray Gell-Mann
Dearly Devoted Dexter - Jeff Lindsay
Our Band Could Be Your Life - Michael Azerrad.
I like to read a bunch of books at once.

Confederacy is ok.
I've always had a nagging feeling I should like it a whole lot more than I do.
I just got sent a copy of a literary magazine so I'm browsing through that right now. So far this dude Ace Boggess is really impressing me.

I LUV me some Altered Carbon, I keep a copy in my vehicle, but wasn't wowed by the other two books in that 'series'. The Steel Remains was pretty kick ass S&S if you like the genre, Morgan writes it really well. Little too gay for me, but oh well, it's a book.

lol. a LITTLE gay? i've read slash-fic that was almost cuddly in comparison. he always has a few extrememly explicit sex scenes, cool that he didn't shy away just cause it was doods.
yeah, Altered Carbo is by far the best of the trilogy. i just liked the character a lot. Market Forces was fun, not stellar. 13 is a better than average sci fi book but a lot of the character is taken from Kovacs. i liked the Steel Remains a lot, i hope the series stays strong.
reminds me of Stephenson. Snow Crash is one of my favorite EVAH books, but i didna love anything else he did until a Lady's Illustrated Primer.

Going back and forth between Freakonomics and various manga. Just started reading Blood Blockade Battlefront. The name turns me off a lot but I figured I'd give it a shot since I liked Trigun. So far though the plot seems kind of haphazard and the dialogue is kind of fragmented at times.

I think my favorite Murakami will always be his short story: The Kidney Shaped Stone That Moved Every Day.
It's almost too cutting for me to believe it's a translation.
