Oh, ok. Yeah, I've had people do that at department stores before.
I try to stay far away from GC.

The wood combo on the Dinger is one of the nicer ones I've seen, the dark top really looks classy as fuck.
But my vote goes to the MTD.
It's definitely been played and it's not the prettiest one but If it's the serial number I think it is....
.....I've played it before

I'm trying to get that fucking thing dude! Trying hard. I may, have a three way trade in the works here. Hahaha
I've been bugging the shit outta the dude.

So I was two seconds away from trading for that Greyman. It's good looking and the guy with the MTD was willing to trade me except he wanted 800 bucks cash too. I asked why so much and found out that his friend is actually the original owner and that bass cost 2000 bucks new. MY GOD! My Roscoe was 5k new! 5K!!! I paid 2100 for it used!!!!!! I called off the trade and thank God. Dude is going to be my friend for life now because he helped me dodge a HUGE fucking bullet.
That is a reason sometimes TB can be good. I've had other people watch out for me like that on TB before. Some of those dudes are awesome. The mods are what sucks (but they kind of disappeared awhile back for the most part).

the Mods have been way less present. that's good. always makes a site more fun. unless it's like over here where the mods are guys that post all the time and you get to know and they're just good guys instead of power hungry dick bags.
i have nothing good to contribute to with your bassy bass talk. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BASSES.
i still don't love ios7, but if they leave the image search how it is now and i can grab urls for images instead of having to upload everything i find i want to put into a thread onto photobucket i'm cool with the ofher awkward safari manglin's.
this just makes me happy for some reason.

Sorry, I'm just catching back up because this week has been crazy. But I just wanted to say that this comic actually pissed me off. Munroe really lost some credibility points with me for this one. As someone who considers themselves pretty damned liberal, I've been getting quite sick of most democrats trying to mock anyone who's pissed about the NSA surveillance, all because they want to support Obama. Not everyone who is pissed about the NSA is a conspiracy nut, and not everyone who cares about privacy is a crypto-nerd.

hurm. i just thought he was making fun of ALL the archetypes/standard reactions.
he usually seems pretty in line with how i feel about this kinda of stuff. it's fucking disgusting how little outcry there is to our government not only illegally spying on us, but our president assasinating US citizens, them making the 5th amendent right something you have to FUCKING ASK FOR.... but maybe he doesn't think his comic's a viable platform for getting into all that? and doing jokes instead?
dunno. that's how it lookededed to me. but i see where you're coming from too.

I think there's a pretty big outcry honestly, I see that shit all over the internet without looking for it. That means something right?

lol. yesh. internet nerds pissed off and signing petitions is going to make a huge difference.
rarely does that do anything.
thing is, and i'm part of this problem, we've been raised to feel like we can't affect change. not only because time and again "representitives of the people" don't care about anything but money grabs and securing more power for themselves, or things like Occupy go about it all kinds of wrong and end up more harmful than good.
but i'm super uneducated about all this. i need to learn more and actually do something that helps instead of just bitch about it.
"I'm like "tea-bag the government"
But that don't fix our predicament, does it?"

it's really complex and complicated for sure. I have no idea what the best course of action is or what would be the most effective/efficient use of our time to fix problems such as income inequality, mass incarceration etc. it kinda seems hopeless at times, and i'm sure there's some powerful/evil people who want it to be that way.
but i'm pretty sure we're gonna make a whole lot of progress while we're still alive. Internet culture is something people my age will grow up on, and while there's good and bad parts of it, in general people have more sense of what's going on in the world and I think that will be pretty helpful.
I think improving education is probably the best idea. I can't imagine how much of a better person I would be if I had a higher quality education. mine was pretty decent compared how outlandishly bad it is in some places (Texas pub ed is pretty fucked so I lucked out).
I think a lot of our problems are systemic ones and as we get smarter we'll make those systems better.
sorry this got kinda tldr and broad

I agree that his comic isn't necessarily the place to make a serious, cogent argument against surveillance. I get that it's a comic, it's supposed to be a joke. But he pretty much only mocked the anti-NSA people in that comic, he didn't actually mock the people who don't seem to care. I just feel like that shows how he really feels deep down, and it's a mindset I've been seeing a lot of from Democrats lately, which is weird because they were on the other side of the issue when Bush was president.

the problem to me is there is an entrenched system of quasi-nobility (government officials, some of the richest humans in the US) that are actively dumbing down the education system and instilling a sense of ennui and helplessness about changing things in the quasi-serfs (common peoples) so that we don't understand why it's a problem when they want to gut the bill or rights or feel like we can stop them.
so, yeah. i agree with you.
Chiefy - i feel you. that makes sense. if it's something you've seen cropping up all the time i see how that'd be more fristrating.
again, i'm not super political, but yeah. that's a problem with all hardcore Whatever Viewpoint. taking something they know is wrong when someone that they hate or don't trust does it but justifying it when someone they approve of does it.
