No I'm in Mississippi. I was listening to their stuff from the videos uploaded on youtube. Some pretty nice sounding stuff.
Oh and no starting over is not fun. I rather shoot myself.

I'm not but if I see one locally I'll let you know.
It'd be a few hours for me to go get that and I don't think the wifey would approve of me driving to go get it when we share one car.

I appreciate the thought

It might not matter though since someone in my area with a VTM just bit on my Sound City clist ad

That 2x15 looks sharp! Nicely done.

Very nice!!! How deep did you go with that 2x15? Sealed? Ported? I also have a couple of JBLs out of an old Sunn cab that I'd like to put into a smaller(than the Sunn) cab to stack it with a 4x12 on top of it.

Thanks for the replies. It is 16" deep and sealed. It has faux ostrich skin tolex. It sounds massive and the low end is awesome. Here is a better pic of the tolex.

Originally I was going to make a new baffle for an unloaded/beat up Marshall 1960B that I have but I knew it wouldn't be deep enough to put out some good lows. What JBLs do you have in that cab? I have a couple of JBL D15S(D130F re-branded for Sunn) that were re-coned for bass use. I currently have them in a shallow/ported Peavey 2x15.

They are JBL K130's. I usually prefer the earlier alnico magnets over the ceramic but I couldn't pass these up. I bought them off of a guy that recones speakers and he let me do the work. He made sure I didn't mess them up though.

Very cool! I was going to use a couple of K140's in the Sunn cab but the Black Widows that came out of the Peavey cab sound terrific in it so they are staying there. I was also going to re-cone the D15S' back to smooth cones but they sound good with bass and guitar as they are. They are 16ohm speakers though so they didn't allow me to get the most out of my Peavey MKIII Bass head. It's the only reason why the came out of the Sunn cab.

So I've reevaluated my rig recently and decided to change it up a bit. I've actually gone nuts. I sold both PVYs (VB-2 & VTA 400) & I'm still looking to sell the Acoustic 370. I initially picked up a SVT 6 PRO thinking it would satisfy my want for an SVT but it didn't so yesterday I picked up a SVT II (non pro w/the single master volume and no gain.) I also sold the SUNN 215BH and picked a SWR Big Bertha loaded w/ 2 Faital 15PR400. Then I changed out the pickup in my p bass to a EMG Geezer Butler signature model.

I am finally approaching the sound I've been looking for. We had an early practice today and it was the first time that I was happy with a relatively "clean"(I use the VMT always on but it's pretty tame overall.) tone. The SVT just sounds great from the get go. I just upped the mids and put the freq selector to the lowest setting and it was great. At about none it starts getting woolly and it only gets hairy'er from there. I'd say this 95% my tone.

Also.....(Sorry, I said I went crazy.) My Bitquest showed up the other day. #50 of 50 (thanks Ryan.) I haven't gotten the chance to start my journey. I've only looked down the path, but this thing is cool.
Needless to say I'm excited for future bass bliss.

Well see if I ever make it down to LA. I'm a gluten for big, heavy, mean looking stuff.
