I didn't have any problems with the 1590A (though I had to bend a bit 1 leg of the jacks)
…if it's for saving space, I think you can save the same space with a 1590B with top-mounted jacks,
otherwise they're not even that cheaper than bigger boxes :idk:

Yes I am :) Thank you! I'll be glad to send some nice stuff to Köln in that case!
You can e-mail me anytime about anything…

I wouldn't have had problems with it. But i crammed 3 full size pots with tayda covers in there and an eyelet board...

Otherwise they are pretty cool, this one was just more of a challenge for me than they normally present.

That's a beauty!

I love the 70's vibe it has going on.

Will the new WSOU look that badass?

Hopefully more so? I am making the art work for the arpeggiator now so i can finish some and move on to other things. this was sort of a test to see what's up with waterslides since i didnt want to fuck up the cases i already have drilled/painted for the former.

the picture on the back is like an image iteratively warped by the same affine transformation. i thought it was fitting since the pedal is a delay with an open effects loop. so every time it repeats it gets re processed through the same effect (ie the transformation on the sound is iteratively applied each repeat). :duck:

really nice layout and pictures. love the detail. is that picture on the back hand-drawn?

so the signal path is not

effect in > delay engine > loop-out > loop-in > effect out

but:

effect in > loop-in > delay engine > loop-out > effect out

or how does it work?

It's usually more inside the delay engine I think. Like this: a BBD chip will pass a delayed signal. For multiple repeats the delayed signal is then fed back into the chip. And here the signal will pass through the loop resulting in consecutively more warped delays. If you put in something that boosts the signal you can also oscillate the delay, because what's fed back in the delay is louder than what came out, resulting in feedback.

yes more or less that is the plan. i have it so even with no effect you can have gain greater then 1 in the feedback loop.

yes its more like the second one (:

here' s a quickly drawn mspant flow chart.

its not something entirely new, someone posted recently about a mod on the moosapotameus (sp?) site that gives a similar setup for example.

Basiacally with nothing in the loop it is like regular delay pedal. If you put some modulation or pitch shifting in the loop though you get some pretty neat stuff happening. IF you put a filter in the effect loop (low pass) you get maybe analog simulation somewhat? Once i put this one back together i will try to compile some clips. The reuslts are sometimes interesting and unexpected. sometimes just shit noise.

The picture is from a book about perception and psychology. It shows that even though the correct figure is quantifiable distorted, we still always recognize it as a human head. There are many interesting studies on perception of 'human' or even 'animal' form. for example make a scribble and put a beak and an eye on it anywhere and most people will say its a bird even though its shape is completely arbitrary etc. but thats getting a bit off topic so ya clips some day

Really looking forward to listen to some clips.
Very interesting idea (both effect loop fed back and perception drawing).
Shit noise can also be good :)

Wet/Dry mixer knob is missing in the prototype, isn't it?

ya thats more of like a signal flow diagram for the general idea. if you didn't have the wet dry mix you would not hear the original sound. You could put a pot for that level but i decided not to, so imagine it more as a 2 channel mixer with both inputs set to unity. The setup i built is like having control of the gain of the feedback loop and a gain knob at the _output_ of the wt dry mixer (master volume). There is also an expression pedal jack for delay time or a knob. Very minimal really compared to a more contemporary delay pedal.

It might have been smarter to use the expression for feedback loop gain as a well but i figured you could just put a volume pedal in the loop to deal with that, which seems to work well.
