I hear ya dood...that momentary feedback switch was one of my biggest complaints with the AD4096.
The fact you have to push it until [it] clicks like the regular bypass mechanical footswitch to make it *run away*, rather than one of the soft touch/relay style switches.
It translated to awkward/vibe killer with me, especially during quiet moments...and got too loud too quickly, especially on shorter delay settings.
Speaking of which, it has the shortest "long" delay setting I've probably ever heard. My unmolested DM-2 sounds like it has at least 100ms more on tap!
But my biggest complaint was the Echo knob being way too chirpy from like, any setting past 8o'clock...so basically the entire knob!
Nevertheless it's one of the sharpest looking, well laid-out boxes around...and the Delay knob's voice is KILLER.
I'm eager for the new version; and optimistic these execution hiccups have been addressed.

Me too! It's also got a delay only output, excited to hear how I can daisy chain that into the mix of things as well

Well, I actually disagree with most of what you say.
I constantly use the Echo voice mixed in with the delay voice. I like that it sounds a little like a ring modulator, only that it's never out of tune with what you play.
The delay length has never been an issue for me either. I just take what I get.
When I got mine the original momentary was broken, so I had to replace it with what was at hand. A regular switch in this case. So I don't know about the clicking. Bot maybe that's due to it being a 3dpt momentary instead of the more common 2dpt?
Only the oscillation, well...
The loudness is kindy scary but still contained enough to not be unusable I think. It gets loud but not out of hand.
But I was actually hoping for something like what the digilog does. It just creates an ambient texture. Somehow it washes your playing away into a swaying ambiental sound, as if a full wet reverb were suddenly in the chain, so that your attack gets drowned out. At the same time it seems to repeat until it gets fed something new. I dunno, it just sounded magical.
