The problem is what to play with it... So far, Frazz, Chalice, Algal, TAFM, Pharaoh, Elements, Hugrer, Death Metal, Lab Ratchet, Tal Mast, Magic Meter, Great Wall 3K and 5K are all CHECK... Now which order... :wha?:

Just sold the Drag'N'Fly, wanted to have one last hurrah with it...and realized I hadn't tried it on bass.

So I put this together:
Image

Drag'n'Fly > Goodbye 24 > Sunshine > Phase-O-Matic > Tremolessence

Left EV-5 is the phaser, right EV-5 is the Goodbye 24

w/MIM fretless Jazz Bass (4 string/flatwounds) going into the Oliver head with a single 15"

I'm really digging single speaker setups as of late...they allow me to play loud enough where I can get driver distortion on top of everything else :joy:

One of these days I'll stop teasing and get a clips-rig up and running.
My gear grinding is too glorious for some frail, bad-clippy camera microphone to do it justice.

Lol. It doesn't get much more evil than this. Ibanez Double Sound Fuzz Wah (the later version with a OD-850 circuit) > Shin-Ei Companion Fuzz Wah.

That thing is like a third the size of my pedal board, but I had to buy it if only to check the 850 again. Probably going to sell it to fund the Matamp though. Not the right time to start collecting vintage Fuzz-Wahs...

How's the tube phaser?

It's a gem; had it just over a year now...and have no intention of ever parting with it, even when it's been out of use and in a drawer for a couple of months at a time.
The EXP jack allows you to manually control the range of the sweep from subtle movement to intense whooshing, on the fly...or acts as a notch filter with Speed knob fully CCW.
It acts as a buffer; using a 12ax7 tube...which results in reduction of the noise floor from gainy fuzzes in front of it, while somehow retaining their bite and treble content.
And it's capable of doing a very convincing mock-Leslie in either slow or fast mode.

You can also feed it VCO through the EXP to control modulation speed.

The magic really happens on the subtle settings...using either guitar or bass. It's so usable. :snax:

Andy's PGS demo helped initially sell me on it:
