i DID accidentally get doused with a good 5 or 6 doses worth of liquid acid before a wharehouse gig one time though. thank GOOGILY that i'd done a buncha acid before that. when it started to come on a song into the set i was like, "huh. i'm on acid." didn't find out till later that my friend that was selling it on sugar cubes got bumped and spilled a bunch on me when i was passing by. messy.

I like the inebriation because it just loosens me up. Mecha Shiva is unsafe music to begin with so I'm a lot less tentative on experimentation and more inclined to take chances and not care if they are not working (give me a second I'll make it work). Our most epic sets (gigs) have usually been the ones that we all showed up early to, got a bunch of free booze and smoked out before going on. Conversely; our most disappointing gigs have been the ones where we've been rushed on to the stage without a chance to relax before playing.

I know there is a school of thought that if you think drugs and alcohol make you a better musician then you have a problem,...and I don't think that's the case for me. I rarely drink outside of rehearsals and gigs, and if I were in a more serious band,...like one that plays covers and is available for weddings, birthdays and bar mitzvahs; I'd be more professional about it (I'd also have to buy a tux ),...but I just wanna have fun.

fuck YESH. i just have a bit of OCD already, so i'm already super obsessive about what's going on. so i don't get looser, just wound tight in different ways. but really, anybody that throws a blanket statement over a FUCKING ARTIST EXPRESSION and how the proper way to do it is a fucking moron. you right tho'. being professional is a different thing entirely.

i've played with cats that can handle a little liquor or weed. some player better if they're a bit loose and it relaxes them. some THINK it does and just get sloppy or abrasive. if it works for you, awesome, if it doesn't, still awesome. but fuck your straight edge ass if you tell people how they have to roll.
