Thing with tube amps, for me, is that I can afford to buy one but I don't want to ever pay for a retube. Plus, I drop my shit all the time and microphonic tubes drive me FUCKING NUTS.

stretchin's - fuck. YESH. lol. any time i took x or acid or shrooms i was always afraid i'd end the trip with a torn muscle because i would NOT be able to stop linguine'ing out. so sechhhhhhsy.
toobz - mebbe? but i'm super happy with my toanz now? so...... yeah?
bullllllshit - fucking FUCK. guh. so bummed and annoyed. registering my car and shit has wiped out at least half of the money i had saved for eyeball repair and a second Dinger startup order.
had two unpaid parking tickets (from when i let someone that is.... not a good person.... borrow my car while i was in Japan last time. they got them the never told me so they went to $170 each), then my car didn't pass smog because the check enging light is on and it's either the O2 sensor or the catalytic converter...... i love Cali in a lot of ways, but it's so annoying and punishing in some of it's laws. gun control, emissions..... yeah we get legal weed but there's a LOT of bullshit out here too.
sigh. gonna go cry into a bagel and coffee at home and try to find a cheap cat.

I think a lot of the "retubing" nonsense comes from the TB/TGP bros who're super anal about that stuff. I bet they change their SUPERSYNTHETIC X-TREME PERFORMANCE CAR OIL + LUBRICANT at exactly 3,000 miles, too.
Behnders, that sucks hard.

lol. yah, lis i've never owned one so i'm just going on hearsay. 'm just happy with my rig so i don't feel an urrrrge to try new stuff.
who knows? might some day and start thinking SS Ben (unfoooooorrrrtunate abbreviation THERE.) was an idiot.
thanks Dose. it's just really frustrating. i suck at saving huge chunks of fun money. i've been really good at avoiding OOO SHINY! purchases for the last month or so. saddens me up to have most of it get put into something unexpected.
meh. it'll work out. i'll just have to wait a month or two to get my eyeballs retoobed.

Car shit sucks. If I didn't like big amps, and being noisy I probably wouldn't bother owning one. Emissions is always a pain in the ass, too. They should just let us drive these crappy/earth killing cars, 'cuz they're probably more green than building more new cars.....? At least I try to justify it that way, ha.

That would make sense. Kinda like how those dudes who think that an amp that is more than 5 years old needs to be recapped. DAMN YOU INTERNET USERS, AND YOUR RHETORIC ADVICE. And +1000 to distortion sounding way better with tubes. I still do SS, though.

i agree with having some control so we're not wrecking the air to have vehicles.... but Cali takes everything way too fucking far.
look for a catalytic converter online. all the inexpensive ones say "49 states legal! WILL NOT SHIP TO CA.".
ugh.

lol. that would be cool, but the REASON they won't ship to Cali is if i install it in my car it will neverrrrrr pass smog.
restrictions here are redunk.

Dooooooo it. Although I've been going the opposite direction lately. Loving the feel of a J neck.

I've often thought about doing that to my VM Jag as well. My hands are way too big for that skinny neck. But I love the block inlay, don't want to lose that.
