That Atoner looks crazy! That Squelch control is a bit close to the footswitch for my liking.

I'm really tempted to. The only thing is, it has basically no overdrive unless you play at volumes that I can't handle for jamming around. I feel...strange about the idea of buying an amp that only has cleans. Does anyone else feel this way?

My Verellen (previously AA's) has absoulutely no distortion at all. Pedal dirt!

Nope. Not at all. I much prefer letting pedals handle the dirt.

I actually don't feel that way. As you know I only play single channel clean only amps. Even my custom Dunwich was designed to be clean all the way to max volume. You can always do what I did to simulate what your looking for, and put a low gain "transparent" OD or 1 knob OD (like a Dist +) at the end of your chain. I'd rather have anything that i might like to swap out later not built into the amp, and since I'm really picky about OD I like having a really nice clean slate to base my tone on then adding on OD pedals.

I roll either way...i played through a Fender Twin for ages, but nowadays use a Laney (EL84 breakup over 4 on the volume) and a Kalamazoo Bass 30 (7591s that break up at 3). i got into the other amps because i played Fenders for 35 years and wanted something new/different. i prefer some amp distortion--my favorite amp i ever used was a silverface Princeton Reverb--but if you NEED to be brutally loud and do anything other than dirt sounds you really need an high wattage amp that stays clean into its upper volume range. i still have the head (well, the chassis) from my Twin and will eventually have it serviced and put into a head cabinet so it's available when i need to blow out eardrums.

Ah, okay, I thought so but I never knew what the function of each knob was, great stuff!
