There some good books on amazon and such. I'll try and find the names, I have a few of them, and have used them, but get bored so fast doing exercises. lol

I was taught an awesome right hand exercise that worked really great for but it's a bit hard to explain over text, maybe we could cyber chat or something someday

was that Duck Dunn? was he a white guy or a black guy? MY HISTORY OF MUSICS SUCKS.
it was such a weird time when people were coming over to electric basses from standup and just beating the SHIT out of those strings. with that huge crab claw left hand action.
EEP.

It is he, yes, I think most of the hard playing had to do with crappy amps really.. stuff like poptops and bassmans... yeah they sound cool but once drummers got loud and usually no PA support... But in terms of timing and note placement A LOT can be learned from the way those guys play everything just dances and bounces because they were just playing the sit out of the song

SLY AWESOME! but then Larry Graham is fucking Larry Graham!
The Meters are worth checking out for looking at soul bass and rhythm too.
Pretty much when I started the guy that gave me a few lessons taught me this style [The way Duck plays] on a bassic blues pattern and that base has allowed me to easily cop any finger style, be it on guit-bass or bullfiddle.
