Have you tried a 900 before? My friend had one and it sucked. Hard! No bass, no thickness, no bite, just sounded god awful and that was compared to a 2000 that kinda sucked anyway. He returned it and got an 800 which sounds pretty nice.
This.
I played them a lot and they always Sound like shit.
The only time i ever heard One that was sounding Good, was when i was jamming with my practice Space Buddy: he used an ibanez with humbuckers and Floyd straight into it and nailed those Monster Magnet powertrip Riff sounds like mofo. Impressing. But i would say it was more his playing. Dude was Nicknamed superhotz BTW.

Superhotz must be an outstanding player if he managed to make a 900 sound good.

New cab I bought yesterday. It weighs about a ton, if you have to move it from post office without car.

What's wrong with the Ernie??? You'll probably have to go in and program all the values when they already seem to be sent up for the Expression Pedal...

I just never liked anything about it other than the precision of the sweep affecting the values from 0 to 100, which no other pedal seems capable of matching. It was squeaky, and the string broke after about a year. I did the programming to set up midi-through expression control, so I can get into all 4 Eventides (and beyond to the M9 or Soundblox Pro) with one expression pedal. The trick is to program the one that the exp is plugged into to convert the expression signal to midi CC and transmit it, then set up the others to receive it and pass it though. With the FCB1010, I'll also have up & down banking, and the second expression pedal. The only thing I'll need to change in the programming is that the primary exp signal will be coming in via midi instead of a CV pedal. I'll also be able to change the receiving channel in whichever pedals I want, so I can use the second expression pedal to control a different one, if I don't want all 4 being affected by one signal.
This is a pic with all 4 Eventides and the Soundblox Multiwave being controlled by the one Ernie:

Holy shit. Is it weird that the WMD is the pedal that interests me the most?

Honestly, if you don't use the gain boost thing, and just crank em, they can sound pretty good. My friend has one. It's loud.

Do want Wattson "EYF-6".
Is that like an Error Card in Baseball Card Collecting Lingo Lexicon Vocabulary?
Are the EYF-6's more collectable than the EFY-6's?
IDGAF I still want one.

I kind of have to agree. Pretty much everything Marshall has released after the 80's JCM800 lacked balls. The Class 5 and the most recent 1 watt amps are really good, but they're based off of old designs so kind of don't count. Now, I'm not a "vintage amps are better because they have mojo" kind of guy. Two of my favourite amplifier companies are Fryette and Soldano, two 'modern' companies with 'modern' tones. I just feel Marshall really let themselves go after the JCM800.
hollowhero wrote:With the tone knob, I thought it might be able to get into e600d/e600b territory... but you're right about there being better stuff out there now. I'm most interested in the delays that ss/bs and blackout are cooking up.
Speaking of the e600d, I saw this on the malekko fb page. It's supposed to sound like it...

Ekko 616 dark
Woah, that's three new delay pedals I'm just hearing about. I hate this Facebook shit where you have to add people to lists in order to see their content. It's fucking bollocks. I've missed so much information and deals because of forgetting to check everyone's fucking feed.
Holy Schnikes wrote:Superhotz must be an outstanding player if he managed to make a 900 sound good.

Actually, doesn't Neurosis use a modified 900? His tone is one of my favourites.

Yeah dude that sucks. It's just a small thing though if you like living where you are. America has a lot of first world problems that are annoying, but it's still pretty cool
With all my complaining I do of the prices in Ireland, we don't have as many health care problems, crime isn't as high, social welfare benefits are more understanding and helpful, there is less homelessness, etc. You guys don't pay taxes like we do, and that's where all those thousand of Euro I've spent goes—back to me essentially. But damn is everything so expensive here.
colin wrote:My Nelson Socialite finally showed up! And its fucking awesome! Pics in the show your guitar thread soon.
Sweet. I've been going back and forth with Nelson since finding them around two years ago. I dig the company, the prices are great, the colours are high quality and don't look tacky. Everything hits the nail on the head. I just don't fully jive with the aesthetics.
