On an unrelated note, I'm looking for a cheapo practice amp for jams and stuff. Really tempted to get a TC Elec BG250 combo for the tuner and toneprint, but I might just get a smaller thing with less features. Any good suggestions for sub-$350 stuff?

Acoustic combos are in your range, maybe the Ampeg Ba-115. An old peavey used is, a new one is probably close. The older GK's have tuner outs and dist. channels, they sound pretty aight, but only aight.

The baby is doing SOOOOOOOOOO much better now. Thank God. I'm doing great as well, just can't exercise for 2 weeks. Sounds like it's not that big a deal, but coming from a dude that was hitting the weights 6 days a week, this shit is KILLING me. Hahaha. It really sucks. I can't lift over 20lbs for two fucking weeks. I have to listen to the doctors too no matter how good I feel because I could seriously hurt myself if I don't. Oh well. It will go by quick I'm sure.


On a talkbass related note. Did anyone follow that Avella Coppolo thread recently? Jesus. What a fucking mess. I don't normally look in that section of the forum but did for some reason.

Basically a dude bought a 5 thousand dollar bass and thought he was getting something in a slightly gigged condition and got a bass that looked like a fucking little kid put it together. Looks awful and sounded awful. So he contacted Coppolo to get a refund and was told "all sales are final". All sales are final even though he was sold a five grand POS.

The whole thread was crazy with Coppolo even coming on there eventually and basically accusing the guy of doctoring photos. LOL. What a hoot. Poor fucking guy. I'd be soooooooo pissed if I spent 5k on a bass and some asshat builder tried to make me look like it was my fucking fault. What a dick.

I hadn't seen it until jwar said something and I went looking for it. Yikes. The only bass I would ever consider dropping that kind of money on is a Wal. I'm sure every builder has a lemon every now and then, but I would think that most would immediately take it back and make it right, just to avoid a shitstorm.

A good buddy of mine just spent exactly 5K on a 5 string Wal a week ago.

Normally I'd be like "ehhh" but supreme jealousy set in because he dropped almost the same amount of cash a year ago on a mint 4 string MKII (same specs as Chancellor's)

I would pay 5k for a Wal or custom Roscoe/MTD. That's about it.
