I've found 3 different sweet spots - two I will always use, the third is on the low input and I mainly use that if I'm using pedals.
However, I've been running it just straight in.
Can dial in some amazing sounds!!

We have some practice recordings we've been using to write melody's and vocals too. It's basically 16 minutes of rythmn guitar, bass and drums but I can link you if your interested in hearing it. It's on dropbox so I can't exactly post it.

I've culled my guitars down from 30 to the dozen I have now. So I think i did pretty well. I kept what I used most only one thus far is just strictly a back up.

Put together my best sounding rig last night...definitely made selling some things off to get a drum kit way easier. Also change of future plans, PA200 is in, forgot how good it is, don't need a butcher or combo for the treble side. Really I'm only one cab and one speaker away from my end goal rig.

I don't think I've mentioned how much I dig your rig often enough, meunch.
Fucking classy.
So tempted to abandon my current rig plans, sell everything and nab the Sheffields out of summit's 212 and the SLOclone in BST.
Shipping puts the kybosh on that shit, though.
Stupid fucking island continent....

I get the feeling you are one of those guys who really understands his gear and how to fully exploit what it can do. Most folks are afraid of 18's. you get that they need the power and that the fullness you can achieve is something special.
I tip my hat to you sir.
Also having an amp that say "vulcan" on it is rad.

Its not even so much that they need the power, cause none of my amps break 450 watts at full tilt. Its that fullness you get, like when a person talks about fullness of an 15 compared to a 12, an 18 is a step above that 15. People forget not all 18s are sub woofers, there are full range ones that sound great with guitar. And adding a decent crossover and midrange never hurt either, my 218+210 has taught me that. I say this a lot but my 70s Olson Electronics Big Rock PA 18s are amazing. T hey dont go nearly as low as a modern 18 but its more like a guitar speaker that breaks up when pushed, and their break up sounds mmmmmmmmmmmm. They're a tone speaker. Id cry if one of them went so im never putting anyhting more than 300 watts on those speakers. And I'd like to think that I understand my gear at deeper emotional llevel.

Very solid. the 210 218 cab I have, I actually just use for bass only. I used it more in my sludge band than anything and only when I recently got that Sunn concert Bass have I really started using it more for recording now.
