i'll have to decide whether to sand the front of the headstock for that old-school West Germany look. and i think i'll probably change the tuners, or at least the tuner knobs. i think i have some ebony knobs in the parts box. the paint on the back of the body is pretty thrashed, and i'll probably overspray the back to preserve what's left.

i REALLY lucked out...there's one guy in Hungary who has good eBay deals. all too many of the cool NATO bloc guitars are now in the $1000+ range, and a complete Twisty in mint condition sold for about that on a vintage guitars site recently. the Warsaw Pact guitars just went up about 40% on average since i started watching them.

I'd say leave the headstock. I think it will look pretty great with a black headstock and pickguard. It's a shame the paint on the body is beat up, those hammerite things don't take too well to age. How do you want to overspray it?
Great score!
(I never knew those pickups were any good at all)

i bought a silvertone body off one guy and the rest of the parts off another and now the body guy has pulled the sale saying it was " damaged "
now i have every part but the body now i gotta wait it out for however long for another body
fuhhhhhhhhhhhh
I hate that shit. Usually means the guy got a better "off eBay" offer and cancelled his auction as a result.
yeah i knew he was talking crap cause i was the only one who bid on it and copped for 49 dimes

Awesome!
Also inbound: MaxMap's enclosure for his pedal
I also treaded myself to the Mastery in B/S/T for the new Jazzy.
Outbound: Josh Pelican's SSStampede, Derelict's SSStampede, another SSStampede for a dude not on the forum, Kbithecrowing's DE Aniema clone, and a huge box of pedals out to space6oy. 7 hours of building yesterday and 3 hours the night before really paid off!

Had a Trem, wish that I didn't sell it.
Coincidentally, they match each other.

something clear, just on the back to stabilize the remaining parts of the finish there. probably a thin poly, because i'm afraid anything lacquer-esque would act as a solvent rather than a shield. i know a couple of finishing experts who i'll ask for advices.
