what head are you running?
Fucking great. Also, I had no idea the drummer was the guy who's playing for Weedeater until right now. I'd love to record him on the kit, so nice to see a drummer that doesn't have all their cymbals right on top of the drum heads.Joe Gress wrote:
Fuck yeah shits good!

It's a custom First Act RD copy bass, I believe it used to belong to somebody rather well known. Christian shared to story somewhere before.amorphous wrote:^agreed!
what bass is he playing? Body is an RD shape, but it's bolt on?
cool, i'm a sucker for RD's...Ancient Astronaught wrote: It's a custom First Act RD copy bass, I believe it used to belong to somebody rather well known. Christian shared to story somewhere before.
With the 6x12 if you can have it made with 3 2x12 compartments internally you can make it work out just fine with the impedance matching. The big thing is wattage, the oddball speakers need to be twice the wattage of the other 4(I.E: 2 8ohm 200w speakers, paired with 4 16ohm 100w speakers). So if you want to use different speakers mixed together it works great, like if you use two sub bass 12's (like the eminence LFC speakers) paired with 4 fuller range speakers (like the em Legends) you can actually have a fuller range cab taking up smaller space. If your looking to make things easy though just go with the dual 4x12's it takes up more space but you'll have even power distribution and impedance.chillerthanmost wrote:So, I finally started the process of getting a custom bass cab built. We're gonna finalize our ideas by the end of the week. The two ideas I'm throwing around are for a big gnarly 6x12 or two smaller 4x12's to stack. Pros to two smaller 412's is portability and impedance matching. Pros to a 6x12 is less space taking and lower cost, but a big con is impedance mismatching. Either from the speakers to speakers, or total impedance to amp.
I've posted a few times about this in the last few weeks, but now that I started the process I gotta make up my mind. Advice/Suggestions?
No prob! Oh and if you go this route make sure to put the odd balls in the middle for better dispersion.chillerthanmost wrote:Good advice. Will definitely look into it. Thanks!
Significantly brighter than Tung Sols? If so, looks like I'll be ordering a set for the Ampeg.whiskey_face wrote:check for EHX pre amp tubes.
those are icepick to the eyes bright.
so bright, those fuckers make my teeth hurt.
Indeed it is. I'm glad to see Whores. making waves. They are stupid loud, especially to be a three piece. I've seen Weedeater numerous times, and Whores. is the only band I've brought earplugs to. They are flat out cave in your chest loud, but still manage great tone and a solid mix. WIZARDS OF TOANZ.Wes Mantooth wrote:That bass tone is fucking great!
yah, i'm thinking that might be cool in my 1992...it's a pretty dark amp too.t-rey wrote:Significantly brighter than Tung Sols? If so, looks like I'll be ordering a set for the Ampeg.whiskey_face wrote:check for EHX pre amp tubes.
