Wouldn't putting the loop jacks on top make for a little neater set-up with the patch cables? Then you can have the loop pedals siting on their own above the pedal rather than following it in the chain and needing a really long cable to send it back to the RRR.

Thing's going to be bitchin....

I think what you have to remember, Blake, is the loop jacks are going to be used by a fraction of the users... the in and out jacks will be used by every user. Our pedals have always had top mounted in/out/9vdc and I know it's a really important feature to a lot of people.

And it's physically impossible anyway, 5 won't fit side by side up there, and there's no way that a majority of people would want the loop jacks on top and the in/out on the sides... I'd never believe it!

Hi, just read the entire thread, just wanted to say that I'll be a stereo user of the Big RRR once it comes out, I sold my RRR a year ago because it didn't have stereo capabilities and I've missed it since, can't wait for this one. I have a question though, how wide/grand is the stereo image when using it in a such a way ? Stereo is very cool, but I've had a couple of stereo pedals that sounded kind of weak hooked up in stereo.

Hi Francis, welcome to the forum!

The stereo RRR has a really wide and proper stereo spread as the reverb engine is true stereo with separate inputs and outputs for the left and right channels. I think some stereo pedals are just inverted phases of the same mono output and that definitely has its merits but it's not quite the same sound as having separately processed channels. The reverb engine's two outputs will have differences due to the stereo design and those differences make for a strong stereo effect.

I think that's a big part of why I cling so hard to the stereo feature.. it's really cool with the RRR! Plus having the two separate paths means you can process two separate things.. two guitar players can use it at once even.

Sorry there's no other updates for the thread, I've spent the last week messing around with relay switching and The Tremolessence.. which will benefit the bigberator too!

This is so cool, particularly since I use two amps and always have the RRR at the end of my chain.

Ok, ok, not sure what I was thinking. The RRR is always the last thing in my chain. Because of this, having the ins on top is fine but the outs should be on the side in order to be more conducive to me and my rig.

I'm sold, can't wait to own it and use it live ! Thanks Ryan.

ehe.. after all this talk I have kinda forgotten what features will actually make it to the final pedal. To me the fundamental improvement to the RRR is infinite reverb... then whatever else is added coolness! :omg:

Haha, ok, Guru! I think I'll just put the jacks all around the outside of the box, like 40 jacks, and then people can wire the ins and outs and everything to the jacks they like the best.

Thanks, Francis! Hope you stick around for the discussion about the pedal as we get further into it later this year.

Molo, I don't think that's even gonna be a feature on it! I don't think a 7th knob is in the cards for the RRRv2, I think the features are pretty much set. Although I will experiment with some kind of crude analog hack for infinite reverb, just in case it owns extra hard...

Ryan - you are a champion among mere mortals. I'm new to the forum, as a TGP member directed me over here for info on the RRR V2. Reading this thread brought me through the full range of emotions...initial excitement at the idea of a true stereo RRR, then sheer elation at the thought of an effects loop, then despair at the thought of sacrificing the true stereo operation, and finally ecstasy when you figured out the TRS fix to avoid having 75 jacks on the monster. I absolutely cannot wait for this pedal. I used to rock a RRR, but when I switch to a stereo rig, I needed more functionality, so I went with the blue sky reverb for full stereo and an RV-5 as well for almost-always-on reverb (running two reverbs in series can be incredibly lush). There is no limit to the potential awesomeness that could ensue from having a bigberator and a BSR working together. I am all over this thing like a fat kid on cake when it finally drops. :joy:

It's been a real roller coaster ride, hasn't it, luke-duke! Thanks for checking it out and welcome to the forum!

This thread has really helped me work out the details and features of the RRRv2 and I sure appreciate it, guys. I owe a big thanks to a lot of you in this thread, oinkbanana, futuresailors, Scruffie, backwheniwascool, Gunner Recall, Jack Deville, gururyan, molokaio, I'm sure I'm missing more and I'm sorry for it... couldn't have done it without you guys and all your awesome input! When we finally have the design finalized and ordered you can all come over for a party and sleep over and we'll watch movies and just really live it up.

We (us here in this thread) still have some work to do and probably some things to decide in the coming months, but we're well on our way to a badass RRRv2!
