Sci-fi exploration and old school videogames, in case the name and design didn't give it away. A quest...for bits (toanz).

Seems more obvious to me than chorus and skulls or reverb and a bunch of people standing in a queue.

whitecapsof wrote:As someone else brought up pages ago, OBNE is putting more effort into branding and product image than basically any other company. Each of their pedals is clearly designed to have a specific vibe. If they just threw all the old algorithms on there it would hurt the conceptual integrity of each pedal.

Whether or not you care about that at all is of course a different question. I think it can be inspiring, seeing each pedal as a unique module with a specific expertise. I've never played the BQ and I might love it, but what's the vibe? WHATS THE VIBE MAN????
This is a good post from a good poster. (I don't agree with the first sentence, though)

It sounds to me like OBNE needs some help from Kirk Hammett...a pedal designer who's an ACTUAL GUITAR PLAYER.

All of this thread's strife stems from one issue--money.

Erm, two issues--money and space.

Hahhmnm, make that three issues--money, space and time.

Who's doing the r&d on that shizz?

Mondegreen=some kind of a lyric-based misunderstanding or misinterpretation of a word or phrase....

This thread=mondegreen in search of a song.

I think what we're saying here is that Bitquest has ruined UglyCasanova for all other spin chip pedals. He peaked too early in life. Set the bar too high. It's sad...it's really sad.

Now he expects EVERY pedal maker to invest 40,000 man hours into the design of each pedal before they can scrape up their measley $200.

Now that was a schadenfreude filled thread.

On topic: Imagine if this shit had come out when people were still aping post-rock bands.

No, no, no this is when you start insulting his integrity and his golden ears and the possible presence of less-than-stellar cables
