My friend and the other half of Astronovazz has the rack mount version of the Digitech Whammy, It actually predates the Whammy. When he heard this he thought the Rainbow Machine sounded way better. Much warmer not as much digital harshness. I really love this pedal. It fits perfectly for the music we play. Garage trash psych midi eastern freak outs.

Fuck. You just made the wait feel even longer. Amazing clip! Got reeeeaaaaaaaally trippy at the end.

Ayo!

Just been messing with my Rainbow Machine and can't get the expression function to work (when plugged in it just makes a rhythmic popping sound and the pedal won't switch on). I'm using a Mission expression pedal (10k pot I think?) plugged in with a standard patch cable.

Is there a certain spec of pedal or cable required?

Most expression requires a stereo TRS cable, different from a standard patch/instrument cable.

You need an expression pedal with a trs cable. The moog exp pedal works perfect. The widest range comes from a higher value pot.

Ye, this and the new Dwarfcraft should've come out years apart so I don't get both and have to figure 'em out at the same time.

~ Amazing application of the pedal, especially the first video.
~ What is your recording set up like?
~ How do you make your videos?

thanks :)

the drummer didn't show, so i just played with a confused and bored bass player. i used a tele through a twin and a music man 75 head with a bassman cabinet in a wide stereo spread. i was running thru a bunch of pedals, but i think the most prominent ones besides the rainbow machine were the moody sounds mushroom echo, an rv-3, and a ce-5, which splits the signal. i used a cheap at9400 stereo mic in the sweet spot and recorded live through a mobile pre into sound forge on a pc. the mic was placed between the pa speakers, which provided a lot of hiss as well as ambient bleed thru live mics in the room. the snare was also buzzing. i don't mind noise. i make the videos using random footage and then mangle it using vegas. the first video was made from footage of a house concert by an irish harpist.

the rainbow machine is totally ace--it will stay on my board, probably at subtle settings. a little dab 'l do ya :thumb: :thumb:

There might be a lot of hiss but everything else sounds pretty good on all of your recordings. Dig it.
