I messed up my wrist learning to play Meshuggah's Bleed. Took an entire summer off and about a half a year of careful stretching and monitoring of my practice routines to get back strength/speed/pain free playing.

Lots of good tips in here for avoiding bad wrist stuff.

A large part of why I spend a lot of time working on technique is so I don't have problems such as carpal tunnel and arthritis in the future
