that's funny. Roots is the first Sepultura album i ever listened to. i listened to stuff like Nuclear Assault or SOD and MOD when i was younger, wasn't bad just got bored and stopped clicking with it. IDM stuff like Aphex and Squarepusher and Autechre and Funkstorung were just a revelation. them and Bjork and Primus totally changed how i looked at musics.
but i did love the Roots album. didn't dig much else, but i have a hard time with stuff where i don't enjoy the vocals. and Cookie Monster growling puts me off. lol. i like Kitty just 'cause of the female vocals.

Sepultura is one of my favorites. Under a Pale Grey sky is one of the best metal records ever.

SOD/MOD is funny but yeah.. most trash does really... I was reminded this week when I played a 3 hour slayer block.. after while it alll sounded like the same song
I loves IDM a bunch
but I like industrial the most when it comes to electronic music, to me perfection would be to mix that with motorhead/ hawkwind and punk... some day....

I agree with that on bands that do it as a technique but if it is just how the dude yells then awesome! I like singers that go all out and not fake it, if you can sing SING if you can't yell! or at the very least be really strange

i like yelling when it's done for emphasis. occasionally? constant GRAAGHHH BLARRRGH BLARRR VRNSK VRNSK VRNSK just ruins songs for me. people like Patton or dooder from Dillinger that can go back and forth? delicious. grrLs that can do ? HAWT AND WONDERFUL.

also, i forget where in Europe it is, but some of y'all use Vrnsk as the sound a horse makes. that's... that's just not even close.
weird one's i know the best are Japan's. like Won Won for dogs and Getto Getto for frogs.
