..just switches aren't that well made these days).
If it's the chip, I'm socketing that fucker if I have to pull it. LOL. Hopefully it's not one that's hard to come by. I also have some chips and sockets on hand.

So if I wanted to try something else, where's a good place to start?
It's a common cd4046 pll chip. Parasit uses them all the time. He usually sockets chips but not always. I think he does it if he intends to swap and find the right one (ESP in the case of pt2399 chips and opamps). I know he pushes them hard and have replaced some (and there are a lot of bootleg chips floating around that end up in that part of the world via mailorder).

I'd replace the switches first though...most likely that is the problem (I had a bad batch of switches sent to me recently...some poles worked, some didn't).

Kompakt Kassette or memory loss/eccodrone might be good. But with active bass they might not work well (I have to ride the volume on my semi high output guitar for best results and run them first).

I would probably try looking for a DPM?
Strange Tales wrote:Got my Hysteresis in yesterday and hot damn. Are all ring mods like this? I might have to get on the ring mod game if so. Pedal is so awesome on everything.
Ring Mods are kinda like it in some ways, but it is Frequency Modulation. It sounds a lot like the Jen/Grestch Playboy HF Modulator. Holowan makes the thermal wave which is similar to the Hysteresis but has and envelope controlled decay that snaps up like a slow gate. The Hysteresis has two lfos running though which is different. I would kinda look at it as more of a different take on Analog srr and bit crush though...

Ring Modulation is the sum and difference frequencies of input and carrier signals that can be used to do a lot of different things (including some overlap with Hysteresis). Ring mod is a specific form of amplititude modulation. FM changes modulates the frequency instead of the amplitude. But the Hysteresis can do amplitude modulation (trem) too. I think what it does is kinda does a fast trem to modulate the signal (ring mod like...playing a trick on the ear but still keeping the pitch related to the original signal and then it modulates that...like a trem made with a pll chip...the holowan does this with envelope and the Hysteresis with lfo)

Basically the carrier wave and Modulator wave to do not change shape based on difference like in ring mod....the frequency of modulation changes at audio speeds.

I'll draw a picture in a bit... Thought of a better more clear way to explain it...walking in LA right proving the song wrong.

So it's not the stomp...damn it. :( It must be the CMOS chip. Fuck me. Oh well. I hope that's what it is at least. It will be relatively easy to take it out, but I'm not looking forward to it. LOL

Just to be clear, which chip would I need?

circuit bent modulator. sample n hold phasing flangering chorusing ect. very special sounds.. pre order now
I got an email from him asking if I wanted the first one (which I did), and that he would order more NUXs to bend very soon. Excited! :animal:

There's also an EccoDrone, a Hysteresis and a Digitizer up for grabs on the site as well. :thumb:

UC would have to be the inaugural member of the Audioslime Ambasador's club. Does it have a lounge at the airport?

How the fuck do you email them? I keep trying and it tells me enter a valid email? Never used that site. :(
