http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVhy9RDUIDM&list=PLTgP6IkXMVAvZkTfYnGryK8-kJicDw_gR&index=80Nick...how is this Milbert amp possible? No output transformer. You can use any octal power amp tube so you could run an amp with a KT88, EL34, 6L6 and KT77 all at the same time without biasing anything. You can run a 4-ohm cab and a 16-ohm cab all while using a stereo plug that will also power your pedals or active pickups with the amp and weighing 12lbs?!?!?!? Also, why would 4xKT88's only be 90-watts.

also no idea on the polarity switch. i think it was for hum back in the two prong cord days?
450 for a v4 is a good price if its clean. if it needs a retube and you want to keep the original tubes runnin in it get ready to be buttfucked.

polarity switch is shit. Best to remove it
Oh I'm not buying it, I was just wondering what it is

Uses a solid state active matching network and inductors to avoid using a OT. I saw the patent, its quite complicated but makes sense. The power is limited because they scale down the voltage a ton in the matching network.

DEATH CAP.
Fired it up again, sounded SWEEET. Sigh. Gonna see how it holds up as we work on this new project, but also keep an eye out. Bassman 135 or Sovtek Mig (60 is handwired, but some 50s show up in those awesome natural housings) is pretty much all I'm going for. That JMP I played for the Galaxicon shows last month was sweeeeeeeeet, but I can't swing that kind of cash. And honestly, when I can I'm just gonna have Nick build me one that's reliable as fuck.
Unless I buy Conky's Redbear. YOU HEAR THAT CLIFTON?

Bolt Thrower, Bongzilla, and EW were the first stoner/doom-esque bands I got into.... way back in the summer of '98.... I still keep BT's complete discography on my iPod. Every once in a while I get a craving for them.
Did anyone else have a crush on Jo Bench?
I remember seeing them when they toured australia back in the early 90's, they played at pub in Sydney called Coogee bay hotel...a dive of a bar...a few years underage, best gig ever!
During the gig someone threw a bottle of beer at Jo, it hit he on the shoulder...she picked it up...looked back at the crowd and threw back in to the pit...I was in Love!
funny, i almost posted bolt thrower this morning when i was posting a bunch of bands. one of my all time favorites. i was a metal head kid in the 90's, so of course i had a crush on jo bench. who didn't? i saw bolt thrower a coule of years ago and they were just as fucking awesome as i always wanted them to be. i probably still have a crush on jo bench.

So I hadn't played Bass in weeks, restrung it and now I can play the thing now. My right hand finger picking was decent and now it's just about average and then I spontaneously learned Mogwai - Katrien (I only started bass 6 months ago)
I love making progress without actually doing anything.

I have seen a couple JMPs under a grand in the last month or so. If you look hard enough you'll find them. Definitely can't go wrong with either of the other options though.

Also, I fully support amp pooping 100%. Ship it to me and I'll deuce in it too and then forward it on.
Fuck yes. Let's turn it into a tourbox situation. We should probably line the box with plastic or something though...
It is a Federal offense to send human poop through the mail. It is perfectly legal to send animal dook though. I've looked into this type thing before.
Shockingly I'm not surprised by any of the things you just said

Kinda late to the party... I just came back after a few days and had to catch up. I've got a 60 and a 120 watter. Take your pick. I actually pulled the 120 watter out of the closet two days ago and ran it for about 30 minutes. Forgot how awesome they sounded.
Also, I think I wanna change out the crappy EMGs in my LP Standard. I really like the stock pickups in y Orville by Gibson LP Custom. I believe they are 57 Classics or some PAF styled pickup. I want a similar tone so should I go with something like a Duncan Distortion (if its good enough for Scott Kelly, it must be good enough for me) or Dimarzio 36th anniversary? I hear a lot of good shit about them. I know I'll have to replace all the pots in there too, so what recommendations do you guys have?
