It has its flaws, and I'm sure a lot of people would have wanted it differently. but I didn't build it for a lot of people. just me
that's fucking awesome. good job. crosses should have been upside down, but i guess i would have done a few other things differently as well. but like you said, this isn't my guitar. it's yours. although i guess the crosses are more of an iommi tribute in that orientation.

Just got me a good deal on a Black Forest at a local GC. Just got home and plugged it in. I still don't know what all the knobs do, but here's my first impression after 5 minutes of playing through it:

Black Forest = OMG!
Black Forest + Pharaoh = ZOMGWTFBBQROXORZ!!!111

Looks like I'll be selling a couple of pedals that will be gathering dust now...
How much did you end up paying? I've been thinking of picking up a Black Forest to go with my Pharaoh lately. I just paid for the 2 Dunwich preorders though, so if I buy anything it's coming out of my fun for woodworking tools.

It was $94.99 and since it was local and I didn't have to pay shipping I figured it was too good to pass up.

Yeah, I also pre-ordered a Dunwich and guilt is starting to set in. I figure I have at least 2-3 other pedals I can sell at this point though.

Damn, that's a good price. I've been keeping an eye out for one used online, but no luck yet. I looked on the local CL, but that's probably never happening.

http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedGear/index.cfm

I check that pretty much daily. I'll usually do 2 different searches. One for fuzz and the other for all new arrives in a 10 mile radius of my office (that gives me 3 Guitar Centers, believe it or not). BAT pedals do come up from time to time when I've searched for fuzz or even Black Arts. Yesterday I did the local search first and the Black Forest came up. I like seeing what pops up locally because I can just swing by and check it out even if it's not a must have.

Nice man! and yeah, 50 watters just dont do it for me. I know that the output difference is not as dramatic as you'd think but I need 100+ to get it to react how I want it to.

Decisions, decisions... just picked up an empty peavey cab, need to fill it with speakers to pair with my GT1.
Got a line on some reduced Heritage G12H30 55hz, which I'm tempted because normally they're stupidly expensive, and I've always fancied them. But they are rated at 30watts... not that my amp ever gets cranked to speaker blowing level, sadly, but shit, it's something to aim for!
Could just fill it with the ol Matamp standby, Hot-100s. Listening to too many speaker shootouts, I think my favourite's the standard greenbacks, seems the G12-65 (which I can also get cheaply) are in a similar range.

Actually I really just wanna buy an old Mesa Halfback 4x12 I saw for sale, but this dude in another city doesn't want the hassle of shipping.

Told you.

I had another mess around with mine stacked into the revelation. Got more of an idea where the killer territory is on both of those now.
BAT shit....its fucking dangerous.

And I'm not talking Hendra virus.

nicely played...thats one hell of a marshall stack you got there!

in more amp news...got a chance to play my modded JCA50 with the depth knob and KT66's...this thing is so alive now! i don't use amp gain, as i like pedals more, but the clean on it now sound full and with pedals it just kills!

I recorded a demo last night, but after i packed up and had dinner i listened to it and the demo was shit...so will do one tonight post it up. Anyone thinking about the JCA50 or 100 shuold do it...get KT66's and add depth knob and you are set with a damn fucking good amp!!

So does anyone have any experience with the schecter baron h vintage bass. There's one on Craigslist and it's piqued my interest. There's just not much info.

I've been thinking of trying a set of kt66 in my Soldano. I get a ton of lows with the 5881 Sovteks in it but I wonder if I can get something to make the top end a little smoother. Really though I think a set of late break up 5881s will be fine for that.

The mental image that the phrase 'beard flap' conjures is simply incredible.
