Hey guys, so I bought that Kompact Kassette from that reverb listing a few days ago. It arrived and all is good, although I feel like there is some ground hum (which may not have been there when I first started using it) especially on the high gain button toggle. Is this normal? Obviously it's not a big problem in a super lofi pedal like this, but still. I opened it up and can't see any grounding issues, but I thought I'd ask your guys opinion anyway.

It seems to be based around the input jack, as it doesn't start immediately after I plug in, but after I first put signal through.

Ps: troubleshooting has told me it's definitely the pedal, not cables/guitar etc

Nah when it's bypassed it's silent. I just feel like it developed noise in the first hour I was using it, but it could all be in my head. Still love it, and it's not a real problem.

They are noisy...he is overdriving the heck out of those pt2399 chips and stuff. Both Kompakt Kassettes I have played are noisy, when engaged but not playing. I find most pedals are and it don't bother me.

Two of the more memory losses do have sound while bypassed (and this is a problem that plagues ring mods). I think when the signal is hot enough, it can jump contacts on a 3pdt...it is always something like a carrier or lfo kinda sound. This stuff don't bother me...just gets really noticeable if placed before dirt.

Memory Losses are very, very noisy if you don't use an isolated power supply. Both engaged and bypassed. I used a one-spot in this demo and theres this constant high pitched squeal. I think it's really cool, but it does away if you have it feeding off of isolated power.

Yup, even more so without isolation. My old extra glitchy and v1 both have slight background noise when bypassed even on an isolated. It just got worse when placed before dirt (though it was hardly noticeable without dirt). It also made a difference which plug I was on (grounded outlets are very important) because some of my old outlets/runs in my near 100 year old house are better than others. When I got away from the outlets I found that shared power with lights or appliances (which is kinda against practice) the noise level improved. I also tend to run these kind of pedals way above ma range (like use the 400 instead of 100 ma out on my iso5...because even though a lot of these digital pedals say they run at below 100ma, if I feel it is close I try to give them as many ma as I can to avoid starve noise).
