Barnhard, when I was doing vocals regularly in screamy bands, I would just write the syllables and rhythms first, then figure out words later. When I started running out of ideas, I'd just start coming up with song titles first, then write about about whatever the title made me think about. In one case all the titles were just random quotes from Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy, but the lyrics had nothing to do with what the quotes were about in context of the movie.

I finished recording all the bass demo clips for the Dunwich pedal tourbox. 7 pedals, a bypass clip and between 5-7 settings for each, one set for fingerstyle and one for pick playing. I'm about to get started on the guitar clips in a bit. I think I should have them up on Soundcloud within a couple days at most.

the best piece of advice i can give is, work out the melody forget about words/lyrics...once you've done that, then you can work on the syllables and words come last. don't stress too much about the words...just sing along to the song and then word will come later.

I read somewhere that Navarro complained that he didnt like to play with the the Chilli Peppers because at rehearsals Keidis would just come along and start singing jibberish...but i guess in the end the words would come...it works for me too.

Doombros, the Orange just isn't what I am hearing in my head. Sigh. My loss = your gain. If you are a known doomfella (or doomlady, gender is of little importance in this place!), I will hook you up.

Sigh. V4 it is, then. Unless someone offers me something tasty....

Depending on which cab it is, you might be able to find out which vintage cab it's a copy of. :thumb:

Based on listening to the Chili Peppers... I'm not so sure about that second part.

But re: lyrics, Steve Brooks apparently just sings the melody when Torche is writing and then just finds words that fit over time

Yeah, someone else posted a Melvins track--perfect example of words that don't mean anything.

Om lyrics are a pretty good example of that, too.
