I think P&W is praise and worship music, which includes some both pretty cool stuff and some pretty lame stuff like any other Genre
Tons of P&W at TGP not as much here, either way is fine with me

I like it here because it seems to be more of a diverse community and everyone is pretty accepting

back to pedals: TIMEBENDER FOR THE WIN!!!

I don't understand how 'praise and worship' is a genre. I have nothing against it, but surely that name doesn't indicate any musical style, just that it's about religion, so it's a useless name?

I'm confused but, you have enough "religious" band in US to create a massive genre??

Maybe that's the reason why I was dumbstruck (I think that's the word??) about having writing "Fuck OD" and reading "F*** OD" on TGP
Anyway...

It's more of a style inside of Christian circles where it does refer to a pretty specific type of music

I think this is what we're talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contemporary_worship_music

It is a genre, no matter what legitimate musical genre it seeks to emulate, defined by the bastardization of music to serve religion.

I don't really think it's funny making fun of someone else's religious beliefs, but I also don't believe in defining oneself by one's religious beliefs.

That being said, I often wonder what would happen if someone started a "Praise & Worship (of Satan)" thread.

The music probably wouldn't suck so bad, which ironically would kind of justify the existence of separate Christian genres.
