Yeah, it sucks dude. I'm pretty sure my amp is on the way out - it's solid state so it's not just a tube change. Looking to upgrade to a custom (dunwich, verellen, something European, I dunno) or at least something rad, but I won't have the stash for at least a year. On the other hand I'm really not sure my amp is going to survive that long, and repairing it just seems like wasted money. So I'm also considering the "sell good unused gear to bring forward purchase time". But I know I'll regret it later on down the line. I hate selling stuff, so I probably won't.

HOLY SHIT
my guitar sounds like a chainsaw
lead lines come out pretty clear but you play a chord and it just mangles it completely
and I get what people mean about gain boost mode blowing up speakers
sweet ass pedal, tempted to try it out with vocals

BUT. browsing through Prymaxe, and....

I dig their pedals but that's really expensive. Did you notice the review to the right? Spaceman Aphelion and Rockbox Boiling Point. I've had the Aphelion so I can't complain, but both those pedals are really expensive too. That guy must really like dirt.

Don't do that...

Do this.

I've been trying to find a Verellen/Dunwich equivalent in the EU for years now. You've basically got Matamp who, if you twisted their arms hard enough, might customize an original amp to your specs (but won't build a clone of anything else), and DIY. That's why I really want to start doing a few mods myself on Ceriatone kits and whatnot. But even that is an expensive adventure. I'm sure there is someone in Germany or the UK that could build you the perfect amp for the same amount that Nick charges, but for the life of me I can't find him. It's all right if you just want a Fender Tweed clone with a couple of tweaks, but if you want something a little more powerful and difficult to build, it's a needle in a haystack situation.

I emailed Laboga, mostly cos I was listening to a whole lot of Vader all day. Anyway, the long and short of it is that they are considering starting up a real deal custom shop again. They were kinda shocked at the timing of my email (which really was random). Anyways, I sent them some specs and they're going to get back to me. Even if I don't end up going that route (see funding probs) ill keep everyone posted.

Laboga are the dudes from Poland, right?
Do you know Earforce? Might be an idea.

I've known of Laboga for ages, but I've never played any of their amps.
Earforce, their website is all in German.

Aye Captain, we sail in the same boat.
I've had an agile Intrepid Pro 828 w/ just a bridge humbucker and loved it. Totally regret selling it now. Don't get a bolt on neck, if you can get a neck through, and buy used as they often go for 50% or less then retail as the 8 string market is so small. I'm pondering either picking up another 828 or getting one of the cheap Ibby RG8's as they actually get really high reviews (due to the fixed string through body bridge and fairly decent passive pickups). It will probably boil down to whats available when i have the funds.

i'm fucking trying to buy a mobius. this shit.
I bought a Mobius early on, then sold it for what I paid, then missed it dearly and bought another Mobius. I'll be hanging on to this one for sure.

Definatly gonna go the used route, just check ebay and the used prices are sooooo much lower.Just gotta wait for one to pop up that I like.
If quality and everything is as good as people say for agiles, i could get one used for less than Schecters low level omen 8.
haha this is not helping my GAS.

Well if I find one on eBay and someone gets into a bidding war with me I'll know who it is.
It really is as good as the reviews. I've had a couple Agiles and they all lived up to expectations. I had an AL-3000m which was their top LP style model back then and it easily matched the (now sub-par) quality of a Gibson Standard for 1/4 the cost. The 828 didn't let me down either, it was built like a tank, super smooth playing, and well balanced. They cut corners in the right places, mainly in pickups and electronics. Kurt learned early on that everyone buying agiles was swapping out the pickups pretty much regardless so he started ordering them with the cheapest ones he could find to keep prices down, or to allow them to refocus those costs into the actual woodworking or R&D.
It's not helping mine either hahahahaha
