I wish I had bought one of those Yamahas before they got pricey. I feel like they were totally unloved outside the southern california surf rock revival scene and dirt cheap until pretty recently.

These were the monsters I loved, the old Kahler Flyers.



Their only weakness is sometimes (and it takes quite a bit of time and effort, and *are* user-replaceable*) the string retainer breaks. Sometimes, ironically, it breaks and continues to work!

… or it may've been that one. ^^^ I can't remember.

All I know is my old BC Rich wasn't purple.
