Yeah. It's nuts what they're going for. Just like when I bought my Sceptre two years ago, I got it for $400, the last one I saw go off ebay was for like $600-700 which is just nuts

Exactly. I am sure that amp sounds good and I have heard they take pedals really fucking well, but the fact they are no longer made doesn't make them a rarity worth a large sum of money, it actually makes them more of a hazard to owning. Hard to replace if ever needed to, transformers aren't always readily available and so on. That should drive costs down, not up haha

I actually ended up getting the amp for less than the best offer that I submitted. Looks clean but I hope like hell it doesn't crap out on me like that last solar us did. Hearing that tone before it bit the dust though got me hooked. If I get that tone from this one it will be well worth it. Ended up being less than the one before too.
As for the market, it fluctuates and deals pop up from time to time but overall I don't think it will ever go back to cheap model ts. I am curious to see what the next cheap amp that brings high demand and rising prices.

Yeah, used market it weird. As a buyer I want to find the cheapest stuff, as a seller I want to get the most, as a moral individual I don't want to fuck anyone over.
I understand the concept of trying to make up loss for fixing/repairs and updating old amps, which at times can be between $250-$300 depending on amp and job, but sometimes prices are ridiculous for amps that are still kind of a turd even after you polish it a little.
I got my Sunn for $400 but there was a bunch of stuff that it needed that the seller never mentioned. I spent around $300 fixing it up and I know it won't sell for the $700 I have into it, but it would be nice to get close. I think it's also different by area, I live near the Bay Area where there are musicians willing to pay top dollar for shit. As much as I hate thinking about just myself, it's not the sellers fault that someone will buy certain amps for way more than they are worth. I would usually rather sell stuff to friends for no profit and even work out payments, etc, but soommmeetimes it's just nice getting that one person that will just pay up and then you don't have to worry about it again.
Fuck, idk, I don't even know what I'm talking about anymore. I think I'm rambling.
I'm keeping the YBA-3 for now. Still debating on the Sunn. I could use a bass cab so I feel like I need to sell something to be able to afford it comfortably.

I know what you mean though. It's nice not to get haggled on things sometimes, especially when you have work into it to justify the price. I'd rather get something that I know works and pay a little more than something that I get cheaper and have to possibly do the work myself (although I know I could fix it, I know not everyone can).

Thankfully the dude I got my VTM from understood you can not pass on the cost of repairs of the amp while it was in your possesion. If I retube my Laney and sell it, I can not factor in the retube cost. I mean I could but it would drastically reduce my chances of selling it. Some people are just too fucking clueless for their own good.

Beyond pumped to be on the best sellers page on Bandcamp this week along with Lumbar and Cloudkicker. Weird though as I haven't sold nearly enough copies as I figured I would need to even get listed on any top list whatsoever.

Well I will make sure to add a sale to that when I get home.

Sick. Even small success stories from friends give me the warm and fuzzies.
I was reading through the power amps thread, and it sparked a few questions, as I've been curious about putting together a dual amp rig based on clean headroom. Would it be possible to add an output to the preamp of my current amp, and run 2 power amps into different cab setups? I know a lot of rackmount bass rigs utilize a multichannel power amp running into several cabs, essentially I want to add a second power amp with more head room while still using the whole of my current amp.
Thoughts?

Some Guitar Center in Florida had a used Pharaoh for $99(!!!). I had just over $100 worth of gift certificates from Christmas and from Christmas gift returns (used delay pedals - the first one died on me, returned it for another, second one started sounding funny too - I'm just going back to reverb for now until I can find a non-crappy delay).
So anyway with tax and shipping it came to around $115 with only about $8 out of pocket for me
Let's just hope GC doesn't screw this one up and it's not defective too. I'm a little suspicious seeing as it was priced at only $99 but hey I'll take my chances.

Not if it's clean enough to be a collector's item.

That's exactly what a slave amp (and slave out) out is for, if I'm reading your post correctly.

Right, I guess my question was is there a special way to hook it up so that my preamp runs into both potential power amps, rather than just rerouting the preamp signal? Essentially, I can use my effects send out to run DI or a slave amp, but then I lose the use of the original power section.
