One thing you should never do with the ring thing is run it on an octave setting dirt>ring thing>dirt this is a destroyer of minds in the worst way possible. That reminds me...

Very nice @ stacking both bright & dark E600 delays. I thought about doing that to cover more ground, but after getting the bright version first, I found you can *darken* it by turning off the buffer & running it in TB mode. Don't get me wrong it's still brighter than the dark....but seems to have more range of function when comparing the 2, especially w/dirt.

Rambling aside, I could have a lot of fun with your setup. Nicely done.

Thanks, you're absolutely right about the 600B buffer/TB trick. I've only had this guy for a couple of months - I actually traded it for a 300D (plus a bit of cash) - and at first I was taken aback by how insanely bright and present the repeats were, compared to the dark... and I was wondering if I'd made a mistake, but it's really grown on me. Especially, dulling it back by running it in TB mode. I'm still in love with the repeats of the Dark (and I find the oscillations sweeter), but of the two - the bright definitely covers more ground. And stacking the two... uhuhuhuhuh... especially chasing it with the 'verb... oh, man... add a dash of dirt, and it becomes a gloriously massive, blooming and corroding analog mess of goodness.

:)

Guitar board from earlier today:

Image

Saturn V > Tremolessence > WOW Signal > Blackbird > PS-3 > Lemon Drop > '76 Ram's Head > Launch Pad

Left EV-5 connected to Tremolessence rate, right EV-5 connected to PS-3 EXP.

Had to scrap-pile the first 2 Canare patch cords I made last year...after my gear fickleness finally stretched them to their limits and they began crackling :erm:
Otherwise the Spring Chicken > Mayo would be between the 76RH and LP...but I'm thinking of trading in the Spring Chicken for a Surf Rider Deluxe. Or I might keep both...

Otherwise it seems the time to get a PT Jr has arrived. I've found my mainstays :!!!:

right now it's nothing TOO fancy but:

Ernie Ball Volume Pedal > Boss TU-2 Tuner > Ibanez Tubescreamer > MXR 10-Band EQ > Boss LS-2 Line Selector > Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor

IN THE Line Selector LOOP: Rocktron 2 button HUSH > Earthquaker Devices Rainbow Machine > Boss DD-3 Digital Delay > Electro- Harmonix Holy Grail (the big box one)

It helped me discover that I'm not really a fan of compressors on guitar...and tend to prefer more dynamic sounds, especially with dirt.

It behaves like a legit LA2A minus the UTC input/output trans coloration, but has a unique velvety tone of its own due to the subminiature tube type used.
If you've ever had the opportunity to plug direct into a legit old Teletronix rack unit, this lights up faces in a similar way as it smooths the attack of notes, while beefing up the tone and ironing out fret noise.

It ended my compressor search nearly a year ago, and I have no desire to part ways.

They can be found secondhand for about $220-250; but knowing what I do now, I'd pay the msrp for another. Everything Effectrode makes is :excellent:

Thank you very much for the thorough response! I have mixed feelings about comps, but owned an Effectrode Blackbird for a minute, so I know their shit is top notch.
